A crack in the mortar from one of the defensive walls of the Sighisoara citadel shows some old red bricks. Loved how it gave color to the whole gray structure along with the green vegetation growing from within it.
I can look in the mirror and not recognize

This is part of my Broken series that I shot for my AP portfolio my senior year of highschool. Most of the photos really aren't as awesome as I originally thought they were, but there are some pretty good ones. There's a little over 12 pictures in all.
My Sissy. She whined the WHOLE time. "But I'm not pretty!" "I don't wannaaaaa!" Silly girl. <3
We were supposed to pick a subject or a theme and do 12 shots. I chose to do a broken theme. I wanted to show "broken" as an emotion as well as a literal state of an object/person.

It's a curious sensation: The sort of pain that goes mercifully beyond our power of feeling.When your heart is Broken,your Boats are burned: nothing matters any more.It's the end of happiness and the beginning of Peace.
My favourite bottles... I picked up the solar charger (freeloader) to check whether it could be charged via usb as the Scottish sunshine just wasn't doing the trick quickly enough... and I dropped the thing that was propping up the charger onto the window sill below... and cried!

Louis and Anna Oleson-Hendrickson lived on East Sippy Road. There is no headstones for them but it is believed that they were buried next to their sons Karl and Henry.
Lars was son of Henrik Larsson and Lisa Petterson born in Öfra Ullersed Warm, Sweden. He married Anna Sofia Oleson in Sweden, 1874. His first three children were born in Sweden. On October 7, 1881 Lars arrived at the port in Pentwater, Michigan. He would eventually purchase land in Eden township among areas of Native Americans. Next door lived his sister Johanna, wife of Nels Talquist.
Louis and Anna had 5 children: Karl, Henry, Oscar, Mary, and Louisa.
Their farm was on East Sippy Road a little over a 1/2 mile east of Custer Road. They originally owned 80 acres. Louis and his son Henry built their family home around 1902. In 1904 there was some sort of estate auction going on and it was there that Louis had a mortal stroke or heart attack.
It is believed that Louis and Anna both were buried in the old Indian cemetery in Southern Eden township by their son Karl. Karl had died in 1888 when a gun fell and accidentally killed him. It would lead one to believe that the Henricksons were good friends and good reputation among the Native American community.

Lucinda (Bowman) Hendrickson
b. 6 Mar 1889 Bronson, MI
d. 19 Nov 1954 Ludington, MI
Daughter of Phillip and Emma (Betz) Bowman. She born in Bronson Michigan and moved to Eden township in southern Mason County as a young child. On April 2nd 1904 she married Henry Oskar Hendrickson (Lars' son 1875-1915) in Fern at the age of 15. They moved into Henrys' parent's farm on East Sippy Road. A few short months later they welcomed their first born son Nelvin in July followed by 3 more sons, Clifford in 1906, Richard in 1910, and Hugo in 1913. In 1915 Henry passed away due to consumption of the lungs. This left the farm to Lucinda, as both of Henry's parents passed away back in 1905 and 1906.
In Sept of 1915 she married Duane Durham in Hart, Michigan where they were both well known. During 1916 or 1917 Duane caused issues that lost the farm. He mortgaged it and was unable to pay back the bank to which they took the farm. As a result they moved into Ludington. In Dec of 1917 she gave birth to a little girl Irene who passed away in May of 1918. In 1923 she was granted a divorce from Duane Durham on the grounds of Dessertion. The very day it was granted Mr. Durham wed a new wife.
Lucinda never again remarried. She had 4 wonderful sons who loved their mother and helped take care of her for the remainder of her life until she passed away in 1954.
Living near a main road, there's always some traffic-related incident going on. Today I found a shattered, but intact, wing mirror on the pavement. Wow, I thought, those reflections are wild, wacky, manic - I love them! And so begins a new project.... Expect to see more of this at Exposure Leeds' Photocamp

Hot springs are sites where groundwater emerges at the Earth’s surface (or on the seafloor). Hot spring water has to be higher in temperature than the human body (an admittedly arbitrary definition): >98° Fahrenheit or >37° Celsius. Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. The highest concentration of geysers and hot springs anywhere is at Yellowstone in northwestern Wyoming, USA.
Broken Egg Spring is a moderately small, non-erupting feature in the White Creek Group of Yellowstone’s Lower Geyser Basin. It is located along Firehole Lake Drive, 90 meters due west of Firehole Spring. It has a circular crater about 1.6 to 1.7 meters across and a subhemispherical basin. Overflow drains northward via a discrete runoff channel, which branches distally into distributaries.

"Broken Jaw" or also referred to as "Crooked Jaw", the alpha male at Green Cay. The oldest living alligator in captivity is 76 years old - I think this guy is also up there in age.

We had a guy in to fix our new couch - that broke already! Seriously, it was in our house for 9 hours before it broke!
Happily, the company sent a guy over today who reinforced it to be super strong. He gave me quite an informed lecture on the dangers of building with knotty wood. That's me told!

GREEN DRAGON LOSES FORESTAY BUT SAVES MAST
Ian Walker/GBR (pictured) and his crew were in fourth place and sailing in 17 knots of breeze upwind and a short, choppy sea, when the boat suffered a broken forestay, a crucial part of the rigging, which helps keep the mast in position.
Quick reactions by the crew, who rapidly eased sheets and secured halyards to the bow, prevented the loss of the mast and the team will continue to race to Qingdao.
Having carried out a rig check, Green Dragon is now sailing with her small J4 headsail and full mainsail and has 176 nautical miles to the mark positioned off Luzon, which the fleet must keep to the east of. It is unlikely the team will be able to fly any other headsails with just a makeshift headstay, but although they will be handicapped for the final 1500 miles to the finish, they still plan to race as hard as they can.
The Volvo Ocean Race 2008-09 will be the 10th running of this ocean marathon. Starting from Alicante in Spain, on 4 October 2008, it will, for the first time, take in Cochin, India, Singapore and Qingdao, China before finishing in St Petersburg, Russia for the first time in the history of the race. Spanning some 37,000 nautical miles, visiting 11 ports over nine months, the Volvo Ocean Race is the world's premier ocean yacht race for professional racing crews.
