Miller was my buddy for the night......his colors reminded me of a wonderful girl that I got to know not too long ago......
Otis likes to lay in the grass and do what we call neighborhood watch. He has always liked to do this but now Otis has very bad legs, so this is pretty all he can do. It makes me sad because he just turned 4 last week.
This was not too long before Christmas last year. We got Chance (the brindle) right before Thanksgiving and Payton at the beginning of November. Payton was a sickly, little thing right from the beginning. For one thing, he was over six months old but not even half the size of Chance, who was only eight weeks old when we got him. Payton died on Christmas night, but between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Payton and Chance were the best of friends. Being a puppy, Chance slept a lot, like all the time and almost every time we couldn't find him, he had gone into his kennel and more often than not, we would find Payton in there with him, and they would be all curled up together like this. They were drawn to each other right away. Chance definately was sad when Payton died because he kept looking for him in his kennel. I guess dogs can have heart-friends too. :-)
