Went on a texture spree whilst shooting yesterday's pic, and I really liked how these bricks turned out so here they are!
This is the huge wall at the bottom of our garden. When people see it, they always think it must be horrible and oppressive but it's not. It's great for security and is a fab space to grow a huge montana clematis :)
And when the sun comes from the right angle, it's a quite interesting texture.

This picture is of the Coronation brick works taken shortly before it was demolished. This demolition created a world record for the highest number of chimneys demolished simutaniosly
First and foremost, his dad Frank W. Cooper was a Jazz Tenor sax player with (friends like Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, Quincy Jones, Art Blakey and Thelonious Monk and many others). His mother Vivian P. Cooper, is a gospel singer.
His younger brother Kevin L. Cooper is manager. K. Brick can be seen preforming around Laughlin Nevada, Kingman AZ., Lake Havasu AZ. areas. Plus, many private special events. What a great musician I'll say! I really enjoyed my time spent with Kevin & K. "Brick" Cooper, and the photo shoot as well. Many thanks my brothers...
I Believe in Magic - Prompt Five: Boundaries and Barriers
I feel this photo has both boundaries (the curb by the road, the brick sidewalk, and the row of planter bricks) and barriers (the brick sidewalk covers earth and the elements cannot reach through it).

I've used this simple design of 3 x 8.5 inch "bricks" many times in making my charity quilts. With no matching to consider, it is one of the fastest scrap quilt designs to make. The quilt top will go to a group which will finish it for a world relief project.
To make a similar quilt, cut 64 dark scraps and 64 light scraps 9 x 3.5 inches and 8 dark scraps and 8 light scraps 4.75 x 3.5 inches. Arrange as shown and stitch with 1/4 inch seams. I cut my side borders five inches wide and my top and borders 6.5 inches wide for the quilt to finish at approximately 60 x 80 inches.
Taken outside on a sunny day. Used my flash. It had plastic soup container thingy duct-tapped to it. 50mm lens. Canon 20d.

St. Kevins Hospital (a.k.a. St. Kevin's Lunatic Asylum) is an imposing red brick structure over looking the banks of the river Lee, in Shanakiel, Cork, Ireland. It is without doubt one of the darkest sites in recent Irish history. A place of such suffering and abuse that questions were raised in the Dáil and which would ultimately result in its overdue closure in 2002.
"Over the years the conditions inside Our Ladys Hospital and St Kevin's was condemned and declared a total disgrace. The people incarcerated in the asylum were guilty of nothing. Vulnerable, innocent and harmless. They did not deserve what was done to them. Victims of misfortune, victims of illness and indeed, tragically, of abandonment. They were locked up in a vermin-infested, unsanitary, dirty, dark confinement" (the conclusion of the Inspector of Mental Hospitals' Report).

This is my collection of marbled slotted bricks. Most of them are Automatic Binding Bricks, but some have "LEGO" printed in block letters underneath. The mostly white brick (which has yellow marbling that didn't photograph well) is apparently a form of PRIMA brick.

I'd been in a bit of whorish mood all afternoon, so imagine my delight when I was heading back to the car and came upon this sheet metal-clad timber warehouse, behind stacks of timber in the yard, behind a brick wall. Ooooh, line overdose.
