DIPA
(Port Brewing Company, San Marcos CA)
Very Good
Beautiful lacing with a one inch head. Smells like oranges/apricot as well as some spicyness.
They describe it on the label as an "IPA with a resinous, bolder, more robust flavor than traditional west coast IPA". And that's not far from the mark. The taste is of citrus and pine. If I have one complaint it's only that it seems a bit too much bitter and not enough sweetness. So perhaps hoping for a stronger malt profile, but that said...they do feature a surfing cat on the label so that bumps it up a notch.
