The next gripping installment in the ongoing tale of the pearl. Today: it's all about shopping carts.
You might be tempted to think that the parade ends at the breakers. Well don't! It ends in a coloseum full of drunks.
The Breakers is a Vanderbilt mansion located on Ochre Point Avenue, Newport, Rhode Island, United States on the Atlantic Ocean. It is a National Historic Landmark, a contributing property to the Bellevue Avenue Historic District, and is owned and operated by the Preservation Society of Newport County.
The Breakers was built as the Newport summer home of Cornelius Vanderbilt II, a member of the wealthy United States Vanderbilt family. It is built in an Italian Renaissance style. Designed by renowned architect Richard Morris Hunt, with interior decoration by Jules Allard and Sons and Ogden Codman, Jr., the 70-room mansion has a gross area of 125,339 square feet and 62,482 square feet of living area on five floors.[3] The house was constructed between 1893 and 1895. The Ochre Point Avenue entrance is marked by sculpted iron gates and the 30-foot-high (9.1 m) walkway gates are part of a 12-foot-high limestone-and-iron fence that borders the property on all but the ocean side. The footprint of the house covers approximately an acre of the 13-acre estate on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
I think this is some sort of breaker box, or a fancy power strip, for one of the Kink.com sound stages.
Though I love the end result of HDR work, I am still very confused about the role of Post processing in photography. I guess I am ok with minor adjustments like saturation boost, exposure adjustment etc, which are things that you could control in the film days as well. But when we start playing around with multiple layers and cutting, pasting and merging stuff, thats when it stops being photography as far as I am concerned. It might still be an art, but I am not sure if it qualifies as photographic work.
I had to use fill flash to get the details in the foreground. This is probably one of my best photos with such a dynamic range. Not bad for an amateur, I'd say :)

From last summer. Joan and I spent a week camping in sight of Lake Michigan; the wind never dropped to a comfortable level.
Usually this beach is walkable, and quite attractive. Not on this day.
The Old St. Nicholas coal Breaker, located just outside of Mahanoy City, was constructed in 1930 it was the largest coal breaker in the world.the cones take up three levels
