“Our lives, I’ve learned, don't simply proceed nicely

and directly from "birth" to "death. Instead, I see each one of us as traveling a most curious and branching-out or circuitous route, one that is creative in ways that are both known and, I'm sure now, unknown.” - Author: Jane Roberts.

This is another attempt to branch out to find new perspectives on dreary scenes. I often see these wonderful curvy branches in bare trees but I am not able to isolate the features in a way I like. This one comes close to capturing it in an artistic way.

Amazing what you can see just a sittin' in your own backyard.

Week #129 - Tree Branches

Trees reflect in windows at Kiest Hall, Texas A&M University.

But...don't be sad. I've lived my life...I've felt the summer breeze and the sun on my back, and the birds and the squirrels have hopped on my branches, and from the top of my tree I've seen many beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It's been a good life.

This year our male BBBs have been roosting at night on a long twig on one of our camellia trees, however their favourite twig fell off the tree recently, as dead twigs tend to do. I was really happy to see them making use of this one last night!

I've been too busy for Flickr lately and am now going away for three weeks but will catch up with all my contacts towards the end of April.

Long time no posts!

My Nashi Pear Tree has lots of upright branches which make for some interesting blur photos when added in with other cloudy images. HSS

It's typical to see a Green Heron such as this one in shallow water or at water's edge, on the hunt for the small fish that make up most of the diet of these birds. So it was a surprise and a treat for me to spot this one up on a branch. And by the looks of its "expression," this bird was perhaps just as surprised to see me. 😄
