Here's the first version of my EEG brainwave visualising pendant which gleans attention (red) and meditation (green) data and visualises it on this LED matrix. Using a Mindwave Mobile, Bluetooth dongle and Shrimp microcontroller.
I always have been fascinated with number sequences and the application of those.
So i decided to use fibonacci sequence in origami.The number of centimetres between one mountain fold and the other is a number from that sequence (1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21 excluded 0).
This photo gives no justice to the real model wich has been folded from a rectangle sheet of heavy, fabriano paper.
The technique used comes from Paul Jackson's fabolous book wich are called "twisted pleats/folds".

Rain pretty much stopped play entirely whilst we were at home for Christmas. Sedating myself with stencil cutting and animated movies seemed like the best option until I had a brainwave and decided to ascertain whether there was anywhere within the house I could paint. A quick survey revealed a wall in the attic that seemed suitable to me and, surprisingly, my mum agreed that it could do with a lick of paint. Before she'd even finished the sentence I was up and getting the paints out.
The final result of a couple of days work is 'The Girl in the Attic' which proved tricky to paint as the room had no electricity so we could only paint in the very limited daylight hours (I generously say daylight as it was dark gray and raining 99% of the time) and then annoyingly difficult to photograph due to the cramped conditions and the aforementioned crappy light. I'd like to think however that it's a better use of my time than sitting on the sofa eating whatever was to hand though.

The set theme was: Q is for Quivering
I had thought of finding some leaves or grass stems quivering in the wind, but the weather has turned very wet and the sky is grey and the light is rubbish. So I was wondering what I might have in the house that could be said to quiver and then I had a brainwave. :)
Not terribly exciting to watch, but that's my attenton brainwaves shown on the LED bar-graph. I'm trying to find the best range for an algorithm for negotiating our CERN Aº app :-)

I’ve been experimenting the with the Neurosky Mindwave mobile EEG headset to send my attention and meditation brainwave data to an Arduino for visualising, by pairing it with a Bluetooth dongle. In the first clip I'm showing levels of my attention data on a LED bargraph and in the second clip I’m showing both my attention and meditation data levels beside each other on an LED matrix.

Originally launched as Vistafjord in 1973 for Norwegian America Line, she and her sister Sagafjord were bought by cunard in 1983 and sailed under their original names until 199 when Cunard had the brainwave of rebranding Vistafjord as Caronia. The idea wasn't particularly successful, in my opinion, and in 2004 she found a more suitable role with Saga as Saga Ruby.
Jacques Lavoisier emceed and DJ'd to 3000+ people at the gala of the Global Teacher Prize at Atlantis The Palm in Dubai (UAE). Other performers included Jennifer Hudson and RedOne.
The Global Teacher Prize is awarded at the end of the Global Education and Skills Forum by the Varkey Foundation, to honor all the teachers of the world.
Dancers on stage were wearing EMOTIV's Insight neuroheadset to monitor their brainwaves in real time. The brainwaves were then transformed in visual art and projected on a 360° screen to the delight of the audience.

A colour changing lighting scheme for the Southwark Street and Redcross Way bridge was unveiled in August 2008 by Dalek Section 106 and local DJ, Bankside Mix. The project had various code names including ‘Smarties’ and ‘Bubble wrap’.
The project was designed, developed, installed and pigeon-proofed by the Dalek Supreme Council as part of the now defunct Skaro-to-Earth rail tunnel extension programme.
In bright multi colour circular lights, the piece provides a gateway to Balham from London Bridge. This scheme also acts as an informal clock with the lights slowly changing from a shower of multicolour to a wall of solid colour once every seventy-six years, four months, two weeks, three days, nine hours and twenty-eight minutes.
The lights were adapted by local artist Aquila Davenport especially for this project to use psychoactive LEDS. Using only the brainwaves of passers-by, the lights which run both day and night consume less energy than it takes to power The Emirates Stadium in Holloway on match night.
Due to the immense number of colours available within each light and the staggering complexity of the light-changing algorithm, the gorgeous ‘all blue’ configuration shown in this photograph will not appear again before 09:34 on 5 April 2061, at which point ‘YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED’ says Dalek Caan.

GBRf sometime ago had the brainwave of naming it's ageing but still very versatile Class 73 Duel Diesel/Electric Locomotives after women in it's headoffice. This is 73 141 'Charlotte' ticking over at London Bridge on an Engineers Train. I've got a shot of 'Lisa' at the same Location elsewhere on my photostream.
When this pendolino stopped at Northampton on a down Manchester service i had the brainwave(!) of photographing each coach that was in The "Monkey" vinyls at the time...here is coach 69929 in the official semi graffiti...this pendo had already had a dose of this sort of thing when it was in the Superman livery....June 5 2007.
Jacques Lavoisier and Major Lazer played at Tradeshift's Chapel in Davos (Switzerland) during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.
The VJing included brainwaves monitored in real time thanks to EMOTIV's Insight Neuroheadset and lasers.
As a key supporter to the DJs4Good movement, Tradeshift made a generous donation to the Mark Pollock Trust to cure paralysis.

Taken on my Samsung Point and Press 35mm during a phase when I was having Battery Problems with my first Digital Camera. Just found the Photos so spent several hours scanning the reasonable ones out of nearly 6 36 exposure films. The Holiday lasted about a fortnight out of Denver of which most was spent travelling ... only 3 days in Grand Teton and Yellowstone and 1 day in Rocky Mountains National Parks.

This painting is painted on fifteen 10 x 10 inch panels. When assembled, it measures 30 x 50 inches. Only three colors plus black are used. The three colors are red, green, and blue which are the same three colors your monitor uses to create all the photos you see on Flickr.
