i worked with 6 braids, and in the end decided i was much more of a 3 braid girl. it's like throwback to braiding my own hair.
Probems: First I make my bezels too tight but this was the first time a stone got stuck in the bezel before it was soldered to the frame. I decided to drill holes in the bezel so I could push the stone out. Finally my husband was able to push the stone out. Now I had like 5 ugly holes drilled in the bottom of the bezel. This lead me to saw out an oval shape to remove the damage. The opening made it very hard to solder the bezel to the frame. Could be another reason the bezel is crooked. Learning experience.

The tilting creates a continually changing landscape evocative of aerial photographs of river drainage networks on Earth & on Mars. As air is pumped into the powder, it carves small streams. After the initial currents of rising air have carved channels in the powder, subsequent streams follow the paths of least resistance, further deepening & elaborating the drainage network.

I got some aluminum wire that's VERY soft (any metal tools mark it, pretty much) and I wasn't sure if it would work for this braided wire technique. It cooperates more, though, and the finished product is bendable enough to adjust to fit any wrist. I've done these in several different colors.

http://www.instructables.com made my Finger Loop Braiding Instructable the number one featured Instructable. It's kind of like hitting number one on Explore, but you can stay on top for a few hours or a few days until someone knocks you off.
My first Instructable - How to make Evil Child Proof Caps Easy to Open was also number one for a while. That one got over 20,000 hits in the first two weeks.
These photos go with a lesson I created at Multi Strand Finger Loop Braiding to teach you how to create Medieval Finger Loop Braids. The photos will not be enough to learn the braids. If you go to the Instructable, there are videos to show you how to make each braid.
Here is a close-up of the braid trim. I salvaged it from the unwearable, destroyed matching pants. I removed it and sewed it carefully to the length of the sleeves and the bosom pockets.
The jacket and pants were HubbyWear, circa 1977(!).
