Brading is everywhere. Daniel Chidoti's sister (Daniel is foreman to Masvingo) works as a braider in Botswana and can come home only now and again because she's in such demand.

Using braiding and finger weaving this is a simple sling styled after the peruvian slings of the Andes.

Part of the joy of my garlic harvest each year, after they have been cleaned, is the braiding. It is a beautiful and very effective way to store the garlic which hung in a cool place out of sun light can be used typically for up to a year.

The girl was very excited to get her whole head braided. After a quick toe dip in the water at Princess Cays, we went straight to the braid lady to get her hair done. Next step - get some vitamin D!
Three strands of sterling chain {some oxidized black, some shiny } braided together and finished with faceted nuggets of Pyrite. Gifted to a dear friend for her berfday.
She's picky even with her hairstyle. I originally looped this braids and she did not like it...this is how she wanted them instead. Another SOOC.
That's what you call the 'bumps' on my hair. Doing this on wet hair, makes your hair wavy. The waves last a few days. Growing up (and amongst my family) - I called them "chiney bumps".
This week's theme was Stranded. One of the defintions for Strand was :
"one of a number of fibers, threads, or yarns that are plaited or twisted together to form a rope, cord, or the like"
So I just braided one strand of hair.
I (kind of) broke my kit lens and I could only manual focus...but I am starting to feel more like a photographer though :)
Now that I look at this photo I realize I am in such an awkward pose....
