Adria braided a crown in my hair, and I just had so much fun with it that now I'm going to upload a million photos of me with said braid. Yep, it was a girly weekend that included doing each other's hair!

i was really please with how this came out. its the first time i have tried braided cables and i really enjoyed it. i liked this hat so much i couldn't sell it. thats why i started another that i am almost done with.
These are some Viking style braids, made by my class of 6 to 8 year olds. They were made using 7 strands and an octagonal style braiding disc. The children have really enjoyed making them and picked up the technique very quickly.
It has been 20 months since I had braids done and this trip to Canberra convinced me to do it again. Well that and a consensus from my Sydney girls that it looks hot.
After 7 hours, I am exhausted. My hairdresser at African Look has been doing my hair for 13 years and she is amazing!
She's back and this time with a black base and red wine tips.

As we flew over Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang we saw China’s magnificent deserts spread out beneath us. What amazed me were the settlements in the middle of nowhere: small enclosures at the end of a road, with dried-up fields nearby.
I was fascinated by these braided streams, formed by water run-off from the mountains in the distance.
