Shiny with a dull background, it stood out. I like how a lot of details of the bracket thing are visible. There aren't many ways to describe what this thing is but it made a good picture. I shot this in Mr. Treanklers room by the cabinet.

the bracket on the right was how I attached my headlight to my fork. It's been in use for about a month, and I just noticed it sagging. Upon inspection, it had cracked almost completely. The cross section must be too thick. I assume it started near the bolt hole where it couldn't move.
I walked through a local wood and came across some Birch Bracket Fungus. I came across this species last year and I remember being quite shocked at the size.
I haven't fully cleaned my bike in a long time but I never really plan to either. I love how dirty a bicycle can get and it shows what the bike has been through. The only thing I do to this bike is keep it well maintained such as lubing the chain, overhauling the bottom bracket, or a tire change. I keep it maintained to run nice and smooth but still keep the grittiness that a bicycle should have.

Taken at Danes Moss Wildlife Reserve, this, I think, is a Bracket Fungus growing on a Birch Tree. Still one or two Dragonflys around as well, even this late in the season
