There are many types of fungi around at the moment. Photographed with Pentax kx at the Watagan Mountains, NSW Australia.
Todays walk and more exploring around Whitfield. Very little in the way of bird life but managed to find a couple of bracket fungi.
This crack was invisible until the boat lift put upward pressure on the amas. It will need to be repaired and reinforced. Most of the work can be done from inside the hull.

Second Geodetic Levelling, Scotland (1936-52).
This flush bracket was used during the Second geodetic levelling, Scotland, and was levelled with a height of 214.9440 feet [65.5149 metres] above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Perth to Glenshee levelling line. Geodetic line G.261, levelled during 1943. The surveyor's description was E face, 10' from N angle of smithy, W side of road.
Third Geodetic Levelling, Scotland (1956-68).
This flush bracket was used during the Third geodetic levelling, Scotland. It was included on the Perth to Glenshee levelling line. Geodetic line G.346, levelled during 1958. The surveyor's description was SE face of building, NW side of road.

Outbuilding or smithy to south of cottage. On left gable towards back. Behind wooden gate, visible from outside. Courtesy ring before access. FB in good condition.

Bracket fungi on a section of tree trunk I sawed off and set up at the top of the garden several years ago as a habitat.
Ganoderma sp. Oak Hammock Trail, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Titusville, Brevard County, Florida, USA.
Jacobean wall bracket supporting hourglass above the pulpit in St Andrew's church, Chelmondiston, Suffolk. One of the few survivors from the original church, this finely carved bracket shows the upper part of a fashionably dressed female, atop a face which could equally belong to a green man or a lion and , below this, a bunch of fruit.
Flight Time Lang and Thunder Petway are two of many Globetrotters that competed in the slam dunk contest at the Final Four during their college careers. Flight Time, who played at Centenary College, won the slam dunk title in 1998, while Thunder finished second in 2007 after his senior season at Michigan. Flight Time is taking Ohio State to win the national championship, while Thunder’s pick is Kansas.

After a trip to Home Depot for longer screws (to anchor the heavy fan into the stud/joist/whatever it's called), the bracket is finally up. This will not be our only trip to the store. March 2007.
An artist's conk covered specimen. I've never seen so many shelf mushrooms, especially not on one tree trunk. Quite beautiful - although I don't think they're edible - and morbid: apparently they grow on decaying trees.
Again, more beauty in death.
We printed a 9 foot image of our logo's bracket on 66 pages, taped it to the wall, and poked holes all around it.
There was probably a more efficient way of doing this.
Hardwick Hall, more glass than wall. Built by Bess of Hardwick, second only to Queen Elizabeth I as the richest woman in England at the end of the 16th Century. The size and number of windows was a display of wealth in Elizabethan times.
This shot is a combination of 3 frames bracketed at -1,0,+1, but with Exposure Value set at -1.
I'm considering setting the EV to -0.33 or -0.66 more often.

Members of Spirits Alive attended the MOCA meeting in New Gloucester at First Congregational-Christian Church where Ron Romano gave a talk on Bartlett Adams. They also enjoyed a tour of New Gloucester's Lower Cemetery (their oldest known cemetery) by Tom and Phil Blake.
They went, on their own, to yet another cemetery where most of the stones were black with growth.

Near the start/end of the walk are more wet gullies than higher up. The decaying logs are covered in fungi and mosses. This one is Trametes hirsuta (I think)

Handles are from powerdrills. Bracket is made from 3 strong brackets screwed together with nuts and bolts. I also drilled 2 wholes in the SUSIS 800 to attach the bracket and handles. The handles could be adjusted if to fit other users.
