British Rail Class 60 diesel-electric freight locomotive 60066, built by Brush Traction, was photographed at Grange-over-Sands on 21 April 1992 when it was painted in Railfreight livery. It passed to EWS when British Rail's freight business was privatised in 1995/6 and is now part of the DB Schenker Rail (UK) fleet.

Am 13.10.2018 führte das Eisenbahnmuseum Bochum einde ganztägige Sonderfaht mit dem Titel "Abschied von der Kohle" durch. Die Fahrt führte vom Bahnhof Dahlhausen über Essen-Steele Ost, Bottrop, Oberhausen, Rechklinghausen quer durch das Ruhrgebiet bis zur Zeche Zollverein in Essen und wieder zurück.
