Mr Box Turtle and I were picking blackberries in the front yard. Hadn't seen the rascal in a while, it has been here for the 32 yrs that I bave lived here and he will likely out live me as they get to be 150 or so. Always enjoy seeing it. Check it's video out. The Muscadinevines seem to provide a challenge for him. .

The only clues that I have so far are these. On the back of one of the boxes there is some hand writing:
“Decoration Day Procession” which later became Veterans Day.
“Crematory”
“1898”

When I was in grade school and invited to a birthday party, I would go to our cousin’s country grocery store and get a cigar box and fill it with candy. It cost next to nothing comparatively and every recipient liked it. When I turned 50, my friend Teresa reciprocated with this Tampa Nugget box. ANSH Round 142
Took a trip out to Andrews Wood, Loddiswell this afternoon (April 25) for a nice family walk.

My first attempt at a box instead of making a cake I made peanut butter rice Krispy treats and covered it with chocolate ganache as you can see the ganache was still soft when I applied the fondant to the lid..YIKE!!! but all in all I think it turned out ok...just need some more practice
This ceramic box is by Italian maker Bitossi. It is hand-signed, but the numbers are covered by felt, so only Italy can be read. It retains its original Rosenthal-Netter import sticker.
Picked these up at Giant Eagle yesterday in a display in the aisle of the baby stuff. They also had a round one tier box like the square one that was a little smaller and (I think) had a built in dip container.
The box on the left was $3.50 and the "cereal container" on the right was $6.50.
They also had Diego, Disney Princess and Spiderman themed containers. Made by "Zak" and dubbed "EZ Freeze."

In the midst of being prepared for dispatch to FNB branches countrywide, FNB's 2010 promotional stands are a lively consolidation of the several football icons it has used in its various initiatives and campaigns. Makarapas, Kuduzelas, footballs and the well-loved tournament mascot, Zakumi, combine to portray what football fans, both local and international can count on seeing (and hearing) during the month long tournament.
Have you applied for your tickets yet? Visit www.fifa.com or any FNB Branch before 22 January to apply. Don't miss out - make sure you can say 'I was there'!

This is my “Bloodwood Star” Ring Box. It measures 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” and is 2” high. There are 72 pieces, both full and half size diamonds and triangles, on this box. On the top there are 32 half size pieces where it would normally have 16 full size pieces. It is finished in its natural color with 5 or 6 coats of clear wiping varnish, rubbed in by hand. The pieces are a bit over 3/16” thick, glued onto a Baltic Birch base.
The type of wood is listed on the bottom of the box from the center out. On this box is “Bloodwood” from South America, “Satinwood” from Sri Lanka, “Purpleheart” from Central or South America and “Wenge” from West Africa.
I made this box in 1996. On the bottom I signed it, listed the wood, and dated it. After the date, the words “Foot Cut” let you know I made it on a foot powered table saw.
It is lined with black velveteen. It has 3 “ring pads” on the bottom forming 2 slots about 2 ½” long, for rings.
Cardboard box gone through complete make over.Decoupage technique, little color and some laces and ...ta daaa.Hope you like it ,I do...I adore the romantic chabby chic stile
I made this box a while back for teacher gifts for Christmas. They are made out of tags. I got the instructions off of the blog over at Tombow. I forgot to upload them and I forgot to take pictures after they were filled. There are holes in the top that you tie with twine or ribbon after you put the candy in. They are very simple to make.
I just used the resist technique on the tags and then designed around that. It was super easy and fun. I will try to find the link with instructions. I just checked and it's eluding me at the moment.
I decided not to leave the state and exited at Ulu Bernam to drive along the Selangor - Perak border and reach the top tip of the state and then drive along the coast towards Kuala Selangor and back ;)
Most of the coast is lined with fishing villages or just nothing at all. first part of the back rds took us along beautiful hilly roads and then we reached a long stretch of uneven roads that felt like we were riding the rodeo along blergh looking plantations. - this is part of my quest to visit every single town in Malaysia

This was one of many quilt tops I made and donated to a group which completes them for world relief efforts.
Mechanically locking Thuxton signal box.
Annetts locks (ex-Brandon) for the long section and two short section train staffs being aligned before being fitted in position and Block Shelf (also ex-Brandon) fitted (later removed and remounted without the use of the low horizontal bar behind the levers as it blocked the electric lock tappets).
This is the box that the Disabled Guy built for my friends who play various historical sea captains at the renaissance faire.
Now, part of the discussion with me on what it had to look like (and I showed him photos of the previous box- which looked like a little coffin), he asked: "What if I made it look like a treasure chest?"
Well, here we are. This treasure chest is very light (I can lift it easily and today, I'm in flareup mode), and as solid as a brick. The handles are garage door lift handles (we discussed strength/comfort with someone who builds garage doors), the hinges aren't as decorative as he wanted (those were too big to fit on the box). The latch was pure luck (we spotted it as we were walking away from the hinge section at Home Depot). All the hardware is from The Home Depot and not a craft store, so it is solid and as well as decorative.
