This poor tree has been bored through by the Emerald Ash Borer.

The photo was taken last May, and it seems these pesky insects are invading once again in Central Illinois.

I was uploading a photo for a magazine entry, when I saw this among the files from that month. A perfect subject for today's photo.

I had to work until close to 1AM on Monday and am up past 2AM writing this, so if it seems a bit discombobulated, that's because I'm running on fumes, so to speak.

The tree survived last year's infestation of the critters, I hope it does as well again this year.

We all take life's ups and downs, and, if we stay rooted in the moment, realize that we are deeply blessed and fortunate to be living.
