Why the hell is it even there?
Thus innocently began another garden project! From a simple brick border to keep feet out of the muck, it turned the pointy corner and became a full fledged brick paved pad to keep feet dry all around the new garden bench, and then of course the pine bark mulch would look funny without rearranging the plantings.....isn't it always thus when you garden?
The famous herbaceous borders at Packwood House, a piece of make-believe near Lapworth in Warwickshire. The house was built in the sixteenth century, but radically altered, particularly internally, by Graham Baron Ash between the wars.
