We rounded a corner, heading back to the car, when I saw this. I immediately recognized it as the poster they have in the Seattle's Best inside the SLO Borders. That same shot is up on the Borders website. Cool stuff.
The Blacklion-Belcoo railway bridge lies in the Belcoo River viewed from the South. It was demolished by the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) in 1976. It was built in 1879 on the Sligo, Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway line and was served locally by the Belcoo and Blacklion Station in Belcoo.

I concentrated on the structural elements of the garden today - how well do things look at the end of autumn, the time just before decay and before the bones stand out clearly. I must admit: I was pleasantly surprised!

Basically, back in the day before Aurora expanded it's borders to the area, it was then located in unincorporated DuPage County. Because of the fact that Naperville, IL was/is pretty close to this piece of land, they were the ones that provided fire services and police services to this area. The "S S 171" was the "address" that this specific house would give the dispatcher if they ever needed to call for these services.
**Eola, IL-- some say it's incorporated, some say it's not. nevertheless, they DO have a post office in their name....**

Originally built as a power station for the Urban Electric Company, it was later converted for use as an engineering works for Turnbull and Scott. They left the site in 2010 (but still operate from Hawick). After some years on the Buildings at Risk Register, the building was spectacularly converted into a distillery by Gray Macpherson Architects.
The office block that fronts the site is a rather unusual use of Tudor revival style.
