In 1938 Czechoslovakia mobilized against the German threats of war, but hat to give in to the Munich Agreement and withdraw from the border fortifications, even if the army was fully capable to stand against the Wehrmacht. After this not only Germany, but also Poland and Hungary ripped pieces of land from the country, and there were also extensive fights with insurgents, which cost lives of many Czechoslovak soldiers and gendarmes. Today it´s a tradition to reenact how the situation could be, when we would have defended ourselfs. It´s a fact that Hitler was affraid of the Czechoslovak military, which at that time had better tanks, more heavy guns, and a very effective fortification system. Of course we win in the reenactments :-)
The Avratic border conflict (as 1944) was the first large scale conflict after the Great War. The conflict began after several Avratic Republic terrorist cells caused massive damage to Aksjö controlled weapon factories near the industrial Ildvet region. Soon the Aksjö government wanted to erradicate the Avratic seperatists and declared war on the republic. The Avratican people were supported by several nations who opposed the Aksjö claim. The Aksjon people were supported by the Reich and Montefalco. The conflict itself didn't last for a couple of weeks. While the Avratic forces were outnumbered and rellied mostly on proven weapons and tactics, the Aksjö military decided to deploy their experimental Tesla walkers (Övervaka's) on a larger scale. These were used with limited succes, since their weapons could 'turn the air into fire'. However soon it became clear the walkers were extremely vulnerable to bombers and artillery. Especially when not supported by fighters themselves. This resulted in massive losses on the side of the Aksjö military. Ultimately the war was won by Aksjö, but at a price of more than 1/3's of it's military. In the aftermath of the war this caused Aksjö to invest more in automated defence weapons like missiles, turrets and automatons.

Severance Town Center opened in 1963 as a mall under the name "Severance Center". The mall has since converted to a standard outdoor shopping center. The shopping center is anchored by Home Depot, Dave's Market, and Regal Cinemas. Walmart closed in late 2013 when they relocated to a new supercenter nearby.

Among the 10-12 species of butterflies that I have observed at the flowing plants on the south side of the swimming pool in my gated community, I managed to find this Praying Mantis among the flowers. The Praying Mantis that I normally see are greenish, not brownish like this one is.
This shot was taken in 2012. The store has since became an MC Sports location.

ARRIVA Buses Wales DAF DB250 / Alexander 4098 - S278 JUA crosses the county border from Flintshire into Denbighshire as it makes the turn for Presthaven Sands Holiday Park whilst operating route 1 to Rhyl Bus Station. This smartly refurbished bus with a good turn of speed is my favourite one of Rhyl's DLA's.
