A couple of shots taken at Biggar and a very smart Alexander/Dennis E20D of Borders Buses at pretty much the Western boundary with Stagecoach on the service from Peebles. It has Enviro 200 bodywork and is part of a very modern fleet in a rural area.

Postcard showing the border checkpoint in Vaals, Netherlands. Germany is over the border. This is postmarked 1956.

This is a little less intimidating than passing from West to East Berlin used to be when I was there in the 1980s – note the tram tracks in this view. The street scene is not very much changed, although there are now no formalities at the frontier.

Today I met this cute and enthousiastic dog in the park. The owner told me that Skippy is a 10-year-old Border Collie that couldn't stay at the farm with the sheep, because he didn't listen to all the commands.

Lol, and the dog was not focused on me, but on the stick that was lying next to me...

Finally done...

This MOC was originally built for BrickCon 2008 and has sat in a "Mostly finished state for over a year taking over my LEGo table. It's time it goes, so I finished it off quick and here it is.

I'm not particularly proud of the castle, but I think most of the landscping came together quite nice.

There are alot of details in the gallery/set.

Hokay, so here's the story I worked up in my head:

This small border outpost was attacked by some rabble during the winter, only causing some damage to the front wall and burning the barracks.

Now spring has come and the baron in charge of the area is able to pay a visit. He is coming to check up on the progress of the new barraks, while the town patriarch wished to discuss paving the courtyard to quell the mud...

The miller takes a break upon the arrival, while the Inn maid and stableboy finish their tasks.

Not even the stable boy is aware of the secret passage under the stable.

The diorama features a working waterwheel and millstone, secret passage, and more than enough rockwork to drive me crazy...

The two blades of grass are the cover!! Honest!

The Border Collie is descended from droving and gathering breeds originating on the Scottish-English and Welsh-English borders, including the Cumberland Sheepdog.

Mention of the "Collie" or "Colley" type first appeared toward the end of the 19th century.

One of the 4 area Borders locations that are going out of business, this location is near Wake Forest and Six Forks Rd. Once the going out of business sales are finished the Triangle will be left with just 1 full size Borders and a Borders Express within the RDU airport terminal.

Many years ago a Big Star grocery store was located in this space.

In 1938 Czechoslovakia mobilized against the German threats of war, but hat to give in to the Munich Agreement and withdraw from the border fortifications, even if the army was fully capable to stand against the Wehrmacht. After this not only Germany, but also Poland and Hungary ripped pieces of land from the country, and there were also extensive fights with insurgents, which cost lives of many Czechoslovak soldiers and gendarmes. Today it´s a tradition to reenact how the situation could be, when we would have defended ourselfs. It´s a fact that Hitler was affraid of the Czechoslovak military, which at that time had better tanks, more heavy guns, and a very effective fortification system. Of course we win in the reenactments :-)

A very unorganized border crossing from China to Vietnam. 2.5 hours standing on a bridge in no mans land with no instructions and nothing happening.....eventually we made it.

Location: Knighton, a small market town and community situated chiefly in Powys, Wales, within the historic county boundaries of Radnorshire.

Lying on the River Teme, the town straddles the English-Welsh border; Knighton railway station, as well as a small part of the town's built-up area, is located in Shropshire, England.
