For Mist: an Elk to watch and catch, a stick, water. For Elk: a stick to catch, water and to get there before Mist (even though she's not that interested)
On the Arizona and New Mexico border I found this ranch fence that pretty much parallels the states board. The "Welcome to Arizona' sign is directly behind me...

The Border Collie is descended from droving and gathering breeds originating on the Scottish-English and Welsh-English borders, including the Cumberland Sheepdog.
Mention of the "Collie" or "Colley" type first appeared toward the end of the 19th century.

Now I am wondering, should I add a border? I really really am dying to start Pat Sloan's "Grandma's Kitchen" but really really wanted to finish at least ONE of my oodles of ufo's so I won't feel so "Quilty". 'Sew' after a week adding sashing I realized I only had 11 blocks! Eeks, and I was running out of the sashing fabric, 'Sew' Pat Sloan's Grandma's Kitchen Table pattern came to mind. I just added corner blocks to enlarge to 16 inches for the 12th block...front block in photos. Here is the link to Pat Sloan's 2016 Mystery BOM "My Secret Garden": www.freequiltpatterns.info/2016-secret-garden-bom-ho… )
Thank you Pat for another amazing job! I have finished three of your mysteries.
September 2017 - This quilt is now quilted...will try to post photos soon.
In 1938 Czechoslovakia mobilized against the German threats of war, but hat to give in to the Munich Agreement and withdraw from the border fortifications, even if the army was fully capable to stand against the Wehrmacht. After this not only Germany, but also Poland and Hungary ripped pieces of land from the country, and there were also extensive fights with insurgents, which cost lives of many Czechoslovak soldiers and gendarmes. Today it´s a tradition to reenact how the situation could be, when we would have defended ourselfs. It´s a fact that Hitler was affraid of the Czechoslovak military, which at that time had better tanks, more heavy guns, and a very effective fortification system. Of course we win in the reenactments :-)
A then-new (and yet to be sullied by grafitti) SNCF Z23500 double-decker EMU stands alongside an FS E656 locomotive at Ventimiglia, the border crossing from the Côte d’Azur and the western Ligurian Riviera. I always enjoyed hopping over for a day trip to Ventimiglia whenever I was staying in the French Riviera. Barely 8 km from Menton, Ventimiglia was a complete contrast and full of Italian life and bustle, with a lively market as well as a beach. The station was busy too: I always enjoyed dropping into the bar, whether for a quick coffee, a beer or even a Campari.

This shot was taken in 2012. This Borders store was still vacant as of Fall 2014. The "Borders" sign in the picture has since been covered with a leasing sign but it is still there.

Not sure why an office storefront in Irving Park in 2020 had this on the window, and that I hadn't noticed it before! (Borders stores all closed in 2011 and I visited nearly all the ones in Chicagoland.)
This was taken at Wimpole Hall, just south of cambridge. If anyone is in the area and has national trust membership, i recommend it - this one border alone could've kept me happy for hours, it's full of amazing architectural plants and also some which were thick with bumble bees and other critters. Luckily i only had my kit lens so we got out before anyone was drawing their pension. Non-NT members can go too, if you don't pass out at the charges - about £30 for a couple including the access to everywhere and car parking...i think they're confusing it with Alton Towers.

Location: Knighton, a small market town and community situated chiefly in Powys, Wales, within the historic county boundaries of Radnorshire.
Lying on the River Teme, the town straddles the English-Welsh border; Knighton railway station, as well as a small part of the town's built-up area, is located in Shropshire, England.
