Founded 42 years earlier, the Gore Company stepped in 2000 into the bike clothing business with the Goretex fiber. Water repellant, breathable, light, these clothes made riding in northern European conditions a bliss.

Another usage of the fiber was experimented: as it was smooth as silk, Gore used it to create a derailleur cable and liner set, where the friction was extremely limited.

The liner running through the entire cable, also ensuring a protection from mud and dirt.

This cable set was more expensive than others but promised a maintenance free usage for several seasons, as opposed to standard systems that required under hard conditions changes twice a year.

Unfortunately, the product did not receive enough success and Gore stopped it in 2012, sold the last ones to SRAM who continued to propose it a few years for their road red groupset before definitely stopping it.

There is unfortunately no replacement to this option today.

BW and the great chair workout

Got some great photos of all the pros in action. I had alot of fun and the beach was filled with photogs. It's about a 2 hour drive for me, so I would wake up at 4 am to get there by 6am. Once you get there, you have to walk about a mile down the cliffs, over the train tracks and down to contest area. Getting there in the morning was a hassle. I could hardly see and I had tons of gear with me. Once you get to the contest area you need to pick a spot to shoot. The best spots are on the rocks that line the beach. As you set up, the sun rises over the hills and fills the ocean with some great lighting. A few surfers are already warming up in the water. And out of the 8-10 hours of shooting there, the mornings are my favorite. The sound of waves crashing in and the way the morning sun starts to warm your face.
