Deer skeletons on the bank of the kickapoo river. I watched them decompose as the seasons changed. It was very peaceful.
This and other bone art was created by the 7th graders and tonight they are having a benefit dinner to fund a trip to Utah where they hope to unearth more bones.
From the British Museum of Natural History. Cleopatra was there! I did take a picture of her but it came out sorta boring so I'm not posting it... but she was.

This thing was bigger than my arm!
Okay not really. Man, it really is easy to exaggerate when it comes to fish.

My photo of the day on Saturday 14th March took me to a scary tree, which I photographed from under another tree. As I was packing my gear away, I found what I thought were owl pellets. I don't know why I spotted them, as its not something I went out to do...I just did. So I brought them home, and did some dissection of them to see what had been eaten. Looking at the bones, I think they were from a little owl or possibly a kestrel, as the bones were all quite broken and there were some feather remnants in there too. Really interesting to do.

RAF Sculthorpe has been abandoned since the early 1990s. The accomodation blocks are in quite a state of decay, with the peeling paint and cracking walls creating amazing patterns and textures.
