Dinosaur bones were deposited here on the inside of a meander by a fast flowing stream. The deposit known as “point bar” grew by the addition of sand, causing growth of the point bar towards the outer bank and downstream. Larger, heavier bones were deposited by a faster stream flow. Closer to the edge, the stream was slower and shallower so that smaller sand grains and smaller bones were left behind. The bones are radioactive due to chemical reactions where uranium-bearing groundwater deposited uranium in the decaying bones.

This basket is made from budweiser caps, and the wire used was from a dryer hose that I cleaned of the fabric. The tinself strength is sufficeint for the basket, but is not very high. in comparison to other baskets, this one will probably not safely hold 20 pounds of weight, but as it is 5"X6" by maybe 6",it should not be an issue, unless some one is collecting lead in it.

Also, a nice herd of dinosaur skeletons.

Bone Machine was a fixed gear criterion bicycle race in an industrial area of north Portland.

Competitors raced on a closed course on bicycles with no brakes and no ability to coast -- track bikes.

The races were part of a weekend of events, including bike polo, Goldsprints and a Chrome-sponsored alleycat.

Under the reconstructed dinosaurs, are displays with the bones, arranged how they were originally found.

Grave sites are a favorite destination of Bone. No surprise there. Here he attempts to communicate with the dead Smokey Bear. All he could get was something about growling and a prowling and a sniffing the air.

I spotted this tree in the woods with a bone grown into the tree. No doubt it has been there since the kids were small.
