Step 1 was joining the registry about 20 years ago.
Contacted about 6 weeks ago. After interview 7 vials of blood required for further matching.
Several weeks to wait now to see if we continue.
The Bone Caves are a series of natural caves set into a high limestone cliff called Creag nan Uamh (Crag of the Caves). The caves are named for the large numbers of animal bones found during excavations.
There are four main cave openings in the cliffs, formed before the last ice age by water dissolving limestone in cracks in the surrounding rock. Subsequent glacial action and erosion of the glen by water left the caves hundreds of feet above the valley floor.
There is no indication that the caves were ever used as human habitat, but two separate human burials have been discovered within the caves.
In total, over 1000 pieces of reindeer antler have been found in the Bone Caves, with dates ranging from 47,000 to 8,300 years ago.
One rare find was the skull of a Northern lynx, dated to 1,770 years ago. This is the only Northern lynx ever found in Scotland. Other intriguing remains include a possible polar bear, arctic fox, wolf, and brown bear.

many, many memories lie in these little plastic figures. i'd beg my grandma to take me to knoodle kadoodle to get me those foil packages- rip em open in the car and marvel.
the game in itself was uncreative- thats a given(line up the figurines and flick one crazy bone at a time at the opponents line up and knock them over). and i definitely dont think i would have enjoyed them as much as i did if it werent for my brother, zach. he collected them too and we would flick these stupid plastic things until our nails were red and swollen. and then we'd go watch a movie =)
the ones in the photo are actually my brothers. mine were thrown away after i moved. if he knew i was messin with his, hed get real mad. but if you do happen to see this, zach, dont get mad. i put them (all) back were i found them. and thank you. thank you for being part of the good memories i do have and thank you for being you. =)

Mother Love Bone was an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington. Lead singer Andrew Wood's death inspired the band Temple of the Dog.
On April 14, 2010, the four surviving members of Mother Love Bone reunited for the first time (with friend/fellow Seattle musician Shawn Smith serving as frontman for the night) as part of a sold-out "Brad and Friends" evening at Seattle's Showbox.
The songs featured were part of the band's core repertoire from their early days, including "Stardog Champion," "Holy Roller," "Gentle Groove" and a cover of the Argent song "Hold Your Head Up," a favorite encore from the band's early club days around Seattle with Wood as frontman.
This is an island owned by the Skull & Bones Society. It is located on the US side of the 1000 Islands in the St. Lawrence Seaway. This is the cabin at the southern point of the island.
The bones of a barn and a tree at Darby Creek Golf Course. The tree will renew in the Spring, but the barn is on the way out. I'm glad I took my camera, because it took my mind off my golf, which was rather abysmal.
Capone was SO excited when one of his favorite little girls brought him this giant bone for Christmas he ran around the pool with it for about 20 minutes before finally laying down and snuggling with it in the sun
I found this spine & ribs in the stream at home today.
Already picked clean by the scavengers, it will be the remains of a lamb that died some time in the early winter.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE BRING THINGS into the office in the hopes other people in the office will help get rid of it. Halloween candy comes to mind first. Heck, finding a used pair of slippers in the breakroom would come to mind before what I found last week.
A large palm-sized piece of black leather, boldy hand-painted in school-bus yellow immediately caught my eye against the greys and cold blue hues of the office lunch area. I picked up what looked to be a patch of some sort and found that it was an arm band. Attached to the sides of the leather with brass studs, a tough, thick band of elastic loops around the back. It would look at home over the arm of a leather biker jacket.
As you can see, the armband announces something called Bone Zodiacs and specifies in smaller hand printing, Inland Empire. I'm guessing that its original owner has the initials M.C.
A co-worker found this in a rental car in California a few years ago and tried to find the armband's owner as best he could. He held on to it for a while until it ended up in the lunchroom, not orphaned for long. It's a pretty interesting piece of leatherwork, and I'm quite curious to find out what the Bone Zodiacs are, and where the Inland Empire is.

I don't know if I should be afraid of this girl or aroused by her. She made the knife herself out of a jawbone (didn't ask what from) and walnut wood. She also had a pouch made from a whole turtle shell.
Maybe it's all the leather? Her accessories were a tad creepy, but she was very sweet and very pretty. :-)
EDIT: Saw her again at the 2010 MDRF. If anything, she has gotten even prettier over the past three years.

The images from a bone scan I had recently looking for (more) cancer. It came out clean, but I thought they were fun images. I was injected with a radioactive material that was bound to potassium- my bones then picked it up as a building material. I was then put under a gamma camera which picked up the radiation coming from my bones. Former breaks, stresses, and cancers will pick up more of this potassium, showing as darker in the images. Larger bones will also come out as darker.
