The music becomes more upbeat
in a swinging fashion, then going into popular hot tunes. This raucous
music which invites cathartic dancing asking onlookers to join in and
celebrate life. Those who follow the Blue Bone
Express to enjoy the music are called the
second line, and their style of dancing this was all their own on
this sunny day in the blocks surrounding Union Square.
Blue Bone Express
strives to reveal the spark that created jazz in its beginnings, rooted
in the music of New Orleans, by way of Africa, Europe, the
Caribbean, and the Louisiana swamplands. Whether parading in the street,
or setting the mood for burlesque performers, the configuration
of tuba, brass, drums, and piano excites onlookers to dance
with wild abandon.
Since their formation they have been
the chief representatives of the greatest North American origintated
Carnaval music from New Orleans Mardi Gras in the Carnaval San Francisco
Bay Area parade.

Mother Love Bone was an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington. Lead singer Andrew Wood's death inspired the band Temple of the Dog.
On April 14, 2010, the four surviving members of Mother Love Bone reunited for the first time (with friend/fellow Seattle musician Shawn Smith serving as frontman for the night) as part of a sold-out "Brad and Friends" evening at Seattle's Showbox.
The songs featured were part of the band's core repertoire from their early days, including "Stardog Champion," "Holy Roller," "Gentle Groove" and a cover of the Argent song "Hold Your Head Up," a favorite encore from the band's early club days around Seattle with Wood as frontman.

"The bone's" are thrown. Sangoma's, (isangoma, Ngaka, African traditional healers, doctor) in a township near the town of Tzaneen in South Africa at the practice of ngaka Mr. Neverdie Mushwana. These tradional healers work with Mushwana and deal with all ailments (for instance this frame - a husband and wife who are having problems conceiving) use "the bones" to divine what is wrong after consulting with the ancestors. The person seeking help will also have to blow on "the bones" before they are thrown. Depending on what the bones say certain remedies are prescribed. For instance if the problem is not so serious a chicken will be killed and the blood from the bird will be mixed up as part of the berbal remedy. If the problem is more serious, a goat or a sheep or even and ox should be slaughtered in honour of the ancestor. Mushwana also runs a large practice with patient files and has a large herbal pharmacy. At any given time he will also have student sangoma's at his compound who he is training.
