A Bold Jumper I spotted on my patio today (7/12/22) here in North Georgia. I first spotted it hanging by a thread from the canopy of my Gazebo. I thought at first that it was some sort of Orb-weaver (I am in need of cataract surgery thus the misidentification is excusable) Once it got to the ground and I got my macro lens out, I saw what it really was.

Karlatornet ("The Karla Tower") is a skyscraper with a height of 247 meters. It has 74 floors above ground and is the tallest building in Scandinavia.
Karlatornet houses apartments, a hotel with 300 guestrooms and multiple conference areas, restaurants, gyms and a spa.
The building's architecture firm is Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, and it was built by Serneke Group AB. It was finished in 2024.
Taken in August at Bolder Beach about 1 hour drive from Cape Town.
There are few places in the world where you can get this close to a breeding colony of penguins, swim close to them in the sea and enjoy their private sandy beach.
The penguin colony at Boulders Beach started in 1983 and is one of very few mainland penguin colonies.
Boulders Beach is situated near Simonβs Town in False Bay between Fish Hoek and Cape Point. Itβs about 2km from the Simonβs Town train station, which is the last stop on the scenic Southern Line railway route. The sea here is good for swimming and the big, round boulders on the sandy beach provide some shade and shelter. Since it forms part of the Table Mountain National Park, there is an entrance fee, which goes towards paying for conservation of the endangered African penguins that live here.

Conservation status: Near Threatened
Left in a road, unwanted, presumably because he had a broken tail. We have seen the odd fox late at night but ' twas unusual to see one broad daylight! π I hope he found a good home with someone who had the expertise to fix his tail! :-)
The waterfront in Bergen has some very colourful buildings.
As the sunshine finally came out the colours where striking.
It was a very frigid day and very few people were about. I was checking the berry trees but they were very picked over. This Northern Mockingbird and I shared a moment. I'm not sure it he thought I wanted the last few berries? He gave me a hard stare and flew right at me :)
Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0ST 'Joseph' heads another load of MGR hoppers up the incline at Bold Colliery, St Helens in June 1982.
The lights are on in the yard which gives an indication of deteriorating weather. I think I must have given up at this point but with hindsight should have stayed and gone for atmosphere!
