Despite being hunting season, I spotted two bull moose on the Alaska Highway last night. A rare sight any time of the year.
... that has ventured into my flowers.
Eine verwegene/mutige Schnecke, die sich in meine Blumen gewagt hat.

The village of Montalzat was founded by the lords Bernard, Bertrand and Gaillard de La Garde and was ceded to Raymond VII on June 10, 1232. Its name means bold mountain .
In 1369 During the hundred years war there was a battle here between English & French troops won by the french
The glens of Hastings are full of the most bold and beautiful Bluebells right now. The lovely thing about dull and grey days, are that the natural world seems to be more vivid and vibrant than ever. A huge splash of natural colour is enough to brighten the dreariest of days.
A cracking and long overdue collaboration with Tim Gamble this evening and even better when I've had an idea that turned out well. Shot in one photographic exposure, this is not a Photoshop creation. And thanks Tim for the use of your camera, hopefully mine will turn up soon....
And not as bee-proof as they look! On the contrary, offering both nectar and pollen, lupins are a pollinator magnet.
After he walked into the grass at the side of the trail, he sat down and gave me a long stare. This is one relaxed and bold kitty.
Must be about Day 4 of him popping in? He's nervous but happy to let me stroke him. Unfortunately Queso really isn't so pleased. Quite a bit bigger than Queso too so always good to keep an eye.

While we were driving past a huge prairie dog town in Custer State Park, all of them were running from our van except for this little guy. Mike had to get out and chase him away to make sure he stayed safe. Here’s hoping he doesn’t keep approaching vehicles!
The mountains in Nepal make their own weather. And the weather can shift as fast as putting a coat on. It's a place like no other, with peaks jutting boldly into the sky further than anywhere else on the planet. The scale is lost in photographs. A person on that mountain would look like a speck, indistinguishable from this distance.

The boldly striped black and white wing pattern is aposematic, warning off predators. And it’s the state butterfly of Florida.
The wingspan ranges from 72 to 100 mm.
Female African leopard (Panthera pardus pardus) in a tree near sunset. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya, Africa. Conservation status: Vulnerable.
We spent our last afternoon in Lewa looking for two young sibling leopards known to frequent the area. There was all kinds of clues, including alarm calls from the monkeys, but we couldn't see any leopards. Then suddenly one walked out of the marsh into the grass and within minutes was up in a tree not too far from our vehicle. It was the female, the more bold of the two, and she found a place in the tree where the setting sun turned everything a golden color. it was perfect.

The cultural and social life of Bernalda flows in its historical center where the architecture and the places of greatest interest of the city are concentrated.
The ancient village in fact extends from the Aragonese castle, which is also home to the Pinacoteca, the mother church and Piazza San Bernardino, up to Piazza Plebiscito, along Corso Umberto I, the core of the life of the Bernese. Most probably the castle was built by the Normans in the eleventh century, later restored by the Aragonese, during the period of their domination, which they have expanded and fortified.
The manor is characterized by a thin and square tower, certainly older than the other round bastions, while the façade overlooking the mother church is the result of a subsequent reconstruction. Walking along Corso Umberto I, between the stately buildings, right in front of Palazzo Fischetti, adjacent Piazza Plebiscito, you can admire a historic 19th century mansion, Palazzo Margherita owned by the Italian-American director Francis Ford Coppola, who bought and transformed the structure in a 5 Star Resort. Furnished with different styles: classic Italian, Moroccan and Baroque, the structure has eight rooms, each of which is dedicated to a famous character of the Coppola family.
David the squirrel is always trying to stir up drama - "I'm choking, I'm choking - oh god help!" he cries. The other squirrels know better and ignore him - but one day, will he be lying?
Doing a double load this morning. I had company last night and couldn't get to Flickr. This Jumper is another of my HDR Cheats I wrote about some time ago where I Quick Retouch in camera three times then combine the four in Photomatix.
Explore is indeed a strange creature. I looked yesterday and found that they had dropped all 109 photos and left the two most recent. It probably goes back to my permission meddling.
Next: Baltimore Oriole.
Thanks for Viewing.
Hibiscus shrubs in my Gold Coast garden are prolific but beset by numerous insect pests. It can be difficult to get flowers not spoiled by these conditions. With some minor edits this one made it through.
This button is pretty large at 1½" wide. It dates from the 1900s and it's made of pierced brass and celluloid. The thimble in the background is French and made of silver with a thin band of brass around it. Both the thimble and the china are from the 1910s. Even the single fabric flower is over 100 years old.
Come to think of it, I haven't heard anyone say 'Bold as brass' for a long time, but it's a description my mother used to use. It means 'shameless or audacious'. I'm not sure this button deserves the description, but it just popped into my head. By the way, does anyone else struggle with subject lines? I could just say 'Yes, it's yet another button. So?', but I'll keep trying. :)
