The big oak out front is a wall of colour as the sun backlights the turning leaves. Lots of fun with the camera and lots of fun with the rake.

I love love LOVE photographing in the golden light. I prefer the evening though, because I´m no morningperson... *LOL*
Wow, explored! (:
Blue Sky Ecological Reserve not only had lots of oak trees, but so many mushrooms under the tree branches canopies and dappled light. So, I switched my wide angle lens to the Pentacon 50 and took many pictures as I do not recall when I saw this many mushrooms around here.

Small, everyday blessings: woods, health, music, laughter, memories, books, family, friends, second chances, warm fireplaces, and all the footprints scattered throughout our days.

More from the farns!! These puffins were sat on the edge of the cliff just relaxing in the sun and the light from the sea behind was causing a beautiful bokeh behind them. I was glad to get some puffin shots with a different background as the others had greener backgrounds as they were by the nests where the ‘pufflings’ (baby puffins) were safely underground!
Espero volver pronto!
Taken on a hike few days ago. No wildflowers yet, so looking for interesting compositions to capture instead.

Looking Close... on Friday! theme: Beads
Of course, I couldn't resist doing another bokehlicious shot when I saw the theme was beads. This is the entire width of an old bracelet full of tiny beads. You can see the wear and tear. HLCoF everyone.
Really appreciate all your comments and favourites.
D'Arnaud's Barbet (Trachyphonus darnaudii) is an African barbet. Barbets and toucans are a group of near passerine birds with a worldwide tropical distribution. The barbets get their name from the bristles which fringe their heavy bills.
D'Arnaud's barbet is a small East African bird. It grows to about eight inches, and is equally at home in trees or on the ground.
These mostly solitary birds eat a variety of seeds and fruits, including figs. They will also visit plantations and feed on cultivated fruit and vegetables. Fruit is eaten whole and indigestible material such as seed pits regurgitated later. They are believed to be important agents in seed dispersal. In addition to seeds and fruits, they also eat a wide range of insects are taken, including ants, cicadas, dragonflies, crickets, locusts, beetles, moths, mantids, as well as scorpions and centipedes.
This beautiful D'Arnaud's Barbet was photographed on an early morning game drive in Tsavo West National Park, Kenya.
