BBQs on the beach are what I live for. We stayed in Hayle today. I took a swim this morning and then we spent the evening walking along the beach and cooking awesome food. Perfect day.
July 2019: after my Zeiss Apo–Sonnar 135mm f/2 lens was stolen from me upon return from Scotland in May 2019, I thought long and hard about my replacement options. As I have moved to mirrorless and the Z7 camera, the best one would have of course been to buy the native Z-mount equivalent, but it didn't exist at the time, and as a matter of fact, it still doesn’t exist now, two years later. The closest equivalent is the 105mm macro lens, which has just been launched and which I have.
After debating between getting another copy of the Zeiss (very expensive for a manual focus lens!) or a Sigma Art lens, I finally went for the latter: less expensive, autofocus, very good repute, and with me for a limited amount of time, until the Z-mount lineup would start to beef up...
Of course, all this was before the pandemic which altered everyone’s plans, including Nikon’s.
Anyway, when I got the Sigma, I wanted to test the kind of bokeh I could obtain with it, and I wasn’t disappointed!
The lens is not stabilized but the camera is, and as you can see, even at a risky slow speed (1/80 sec. for 135mm), it is possible to achieve a sharp shot.
