Old abandoned house that has sat beside a restaurant that is also left. These are both at the edge of town but still in the mix of our tiny Metropolis.
I should mention that the yellow building in the BG is also empty. (restaurant)

Testing a homemade lens made from a single glass element 77mm +10 diopter plano-convex with the flat side facing the subject. It's roughly 140mm f/2. Here it is stopped down to f/3.5, I think I'll try f/5.6 on the next roll.

Former Adult store, now boarded up - Bethlehem, PA - Minolta X-570 - Ilford HP5+ - home developed in D76 - scanned on Epson V600.

This little hotel has been closed and decaying for more than 14 years now. When I first photographed it, just after closing, the thatch roof was still in place and all of the windows were exposed and intact. It was once a very attractive little hotel.
MZ-60, Sigma 35-70 @ 35mm, and XP2 Super film. Developed and scanned by Printpoint, Limerick.
The Bernard Hansen and Company store in Bear River City, Utah is a treasure of old ghost signs. I found an obituary for Mr Hansen, who lived from 1885 to 1960. In addition to this wonderful old store, he was a rancher and owned the Sage Brush Duck Club. I think this is a great find for Sign Sunday. HSS.

The Minx Dining Room and Bar in Christchurch has been shut for years due to damage in the earthquakes.
part of west side, Bay Street (at Scollard), Heritage site, peeling white paint to reveal the red brick below. Boarded up and empty, waiting to be incorporated into a new condo development

I found this photo whilst clearing down my iPhone. I took it at the derelict Loch-Sloy Business Park, which started life in the late 1940s as Camp Picton. It’s in Prince Edward County in Canada. October 2015.

High streets across the UK lost more than 17,500 shops in 2020. Taunton lost a major retailer – Debenhams – and multiple other shops in the town have closed due to the impact of the pandemic.
But there seems to be a wide consensus that town centres need to ‘re-invent’ themselves to bring people back, and one way of doing this is through art.
Pretty soon these houses will be history and you won’t recognize the neighbourhood anymore.
