Not sure if this is a sharecropper cabin (probably, but a very small duplex one if so), or possibly a barn/outbuilding. It doesn't look old enough to be a slave cabin...

Back to the basics and completely off the grid. Boarded up, rustic old log cabin found in the middle of no where. Lost in the wooded mountains of the Thompson- Nicola Regional District

Gold miner's / Trapper's Log Cabin ?
The Cariboo Gold Rush was a gold rush in the Colony of British Columbia, which later became the Canadian province of British Columbia. The first gold discovery was made at Hills Bar in 1858, followed by more strikes in 1859 on the Horsefly River, and on Keithley Creek and Antler Creek in 1860. The actual rush did not begin until 1861, when these discoveries were widely publicized. By 1865, following the strikes along Williams Creek, the rush was in full swing.
Towns grew up, the most famous of these being Barkerville, now preserved as a heritage site and tourist attraction. Other important towns of the Cariboo gold rush era were Keithley Creek, Quesnel Forks or simply "the Forks", Antler, Richfield, Quesnellemouthe (which would later be shortened to Quesnel), Horsefly and, around the site of the Hudson's Bay Company's fort of the same name, Alexandria.
Thank-you for all the overwhelming support and many friendships.

Personally I don't like the "mentioned you" thing. I would rather you took some time and visited my stream. That is how you thank someone. You reciprocate.
Old church or school house boarded up. I do love old buildings like this.
Happy Window Wednesday
This old wooden rocking chair sits abandoned on the porch of an old building in central Oregon. I found the springs an interesting way to make a rocking chair.
Walthamstow Market.
I remember stopping for lunch here in 1976 with my mum and sister after we watched a band play live on the site that has long been a shopping mall. This was an old family cafe back then.
I stopped for lunch there about three year's ago and was served more than one human hair and lots of grease with my chip's on that occasion, and needless to say I did what I am good at and complained !
Hopefully it will not be lost as it is one of the long surviving market building's.

One of the last untouched signs from the tornado is the corner of Broadway and 7th Street. Still standing is the Hall Hotel, which towers over the empty overgrown fields which used to be downtown Mayfield.
The five-story Hall Hotel was built in 1930. It was designed to serve both travelers and businessmen who would visit Mayfield. According to the National Register of Historic Places, this hotel was the social center of the town for nearly forty years. It featured a large dinning room and several meeting rooms.
The future of this hotel is currently unknown. Little information about the building can easily be found online. An article posted shortly after the tornado stated the hotel had a structural issue and was in danger of collapsing. This lead to the temporary closure of the surrounding roads. However there was hope that it could be stabilized and restoration efforts could happen in the near future.
This post marks the end of my series on Mayfield. While these photos showed the damage to the community, one thing to note is that Mayfield is rebuilding and coming back stronger. New construction is starting now that most of the debris has been cleared. While scars remain, the spirit of Mayfield is stronger than ever before.

Like many UK towns, Taunton is losing established "high street" names.
Covid 19 didn't help, but the rot had set in long before.
When we moved to southern Connecticut, New London was having a hard time. There were a lot of empty buildings on its main street, but also several cool murals around town. Maybe they gave someone the idea to add some cool art to the boarded up windows on the Bank Street building above. Unfortunately, I couldn't find an artist name or signature. From a quick online search, it looks like the building is till there, still empty, and still for sale - but with some of the window panels moved and missing. Just for info, this building is a couple doors down from the Hollywood murals I posted a while ago:
