For the Nittany Block Party. Beth asked for half square triangles -- some form her fabrics, others from our stash.
Police blocking off a street preventing people from getting to the street where the Olympic Torch was going to be. There's another blockade behind me so I'm effectively in no-man's land.
Today, 7 June, the Olympic Torch came to Nanning and Olympic fever was running hot. Thousands of people turned out to catch a glimpse of the torch. But many were disappointed including myself. Only those who came very early (maybe around 6-7am) got to the roadside. Later the roads were blocked off and many people were prevented from getting close enough to see the torch. However, it was still enjoyable walking the streets and seeing the Chinese celebrate the coming Olympic Games in Beijing. The Chinese are very proud of having the opportunity to host the games and I'm sure will do a great job.
I wanted to see how a 3D question block from Mario would look so I could draw up designs and mill something from a chunk of steel. Apparently this is what it looks like.
Starting to come out from under wraps after a multi-year restoration has the building cleaned up nice! Hopefully they'll do just as good a job on the West Block.

Hey Rebecca! I'm sorry the color isn't great on this photo! I'm still trying to get used to my cell phone's camera :)
There wasn't enough of your white fabric in the package, so I tried to add from my own stash as best I could - the white makes up the tips on the red flowers with the green background. I won't be the LEAST bit offended if you decide to rip this up when you get it and add in the correct color. I'm so sorry I didn't have the correct white to match yours!!
Lastly, I tried to fussy cut the green flowers as much as possible, but that was all I had to work with, so I tried to spread the love around :) I hope that this is what you were wanting!
Hugs!

My first (and only for a while - must get my other commitments done!) block - and I love it! Not my usual colours, but this is going to be a pretty, pretty quilt :o)

Loved this block! Came together quickly and easily. I decided to add in some Kona in Celery, as the other blocks so far all have a solid, and the block looked a little busy with all prints.
Spotted this amazing retro factory along the highway
