Talata block that was used for building the Aten temples at Tell el Amarna or the name that the ancient Egyptian used of the city -Akhetaten. The unique artistic style of the Amarna period is shown through a variety of colored scenes; a group of workers of wooden furniture, workers cutting rocks using chisels and hammers in addition to a worker carrying a sack.

For her month in Not Your Grandma's Quilting Bee (The Hive) Cindy provided sparkly purple fabric and asked that we add fabrics from our stash to make this specific block. She added that we could embellish the centre if we wanted.
Almost all of these fabrics are from my scrap bin. The applique is from the pattern Wish You Were Here by Don't Look Now.
