This pretty block is from a design by Carl Hentsch. Love these colors! Hard to see here, but the background is cream with a light turquoise floral design.

For this quarter of the 4x5 Bee Deborah asked for blocks in orange, chartreuse and grey.

 

The (free) pattern is Kaleidoscope from the Compass Collection by Quilting on the Square.

These are all made with that same basic block, some in different size strips. The different layouts really make it look like I've used different blocks!

This is the road block at Heytesbury on the old A36. The village is now by passed, and returned to a much quieter time.

Again with the pattern blocks... you'd think I work in a school or something... oh, wait. Here is a quick design I made playing with the pattern blocks before school started.

 

Random Fact: I find the hexagon to be a pleasing finished shape. Probably because so much of the build up to fractions relies on students realizing that two of the trapezoids fit into the hexagon, 3 rhombuses fit into the hexagon and 6 of the triangles fit into the hexagon. Only 1 hexagon fits into the hexagon though.

Santa Claus block for Carrie (Passion for Applique). Had fun with this one! Odd shapes all over the place and easy to rotate wrongly from table to machine. Will certainly make another one though.

Stained glass on a glass block salvaged from our bathroom remodel. Fish inspiration from an old t-shirt design.

This handy fence helped to hide the modern building works on the right hand side of this scene.
