It takes a special kind of willpower to out-stare a sheep, and eyes that can handle getting as dry as the Gobi Desert. Was I that man? Were those my eyes?
You can see the ones at the back were wondering just how long we could keep this up.
Remember that these damaged parts are polarized electrolytic capacitors and lead placement is critical. Make sure that the + sign near the capacitor lead matches up with the + sign on the circuit board.

Animated gif of our car's dashboard this afternoon. I turned on the car for a few minutes to keep the battery charged - it's been so cold and the battery is so old, that we need to do this to make sure the car will start when we want it to.

These are battery powered Christmas lights that I found at Target. Battery holder takes 4 AA cells and has an on/off switch. No batteries included - so I put in some rechargeables, and so far the batteries have been running 2 days. The pattern constantly changes, from a slower color change to a rapid blink. Each "snowflake" changes from blue to red to green to gold to orange - very cool stuff. It would be nice to be able to tell it to slow down the blinking to a more mellow speed!
It is pretty much the first project anybody and everybody does when they get an Arduino - blink the on-board LED. It teaches the basics of coding for the Arduino, digital output, and basic circuits. I have been slowly crawling all the common Arduino examples you see out there, and converting (porting) them to the Electric Imp. This is the Imp version of the classic "Blink" sketch.
At first I was not sure why its left eye looks grey. I thought it was blind. But then I found another picture in which the this roller's left eye looks normal and healthy. Then I watched some videos of Blue-bellied roller and found the answer. -- It was blinking its eyes!
The camera blinking for the timer was freaking him out a bit.

Got my trips booked to Boston and Brooklyn today. Still working like crazy to get another project built before I leave. I got the SANs configured and formatting before I left today. Yay for blinking lights!! These are the IBM servers that I had to build. I had help racking and cabling the last couple of days.

NGC6826 Blinking Planetary taken with a 10inch f6 Newtonian made by Mick Hollimon, with a Robert Royce primary mirror, at Baader MPCC Coma Corrector with Orion Starshoot Pro V1 Camera - Schneider 486 UVIR Filter. This is a stack of 5 x 500 sec exposures taken the night of Oct 6, 2013, from my Sunnyvale, California back yard. The original image luminance was transformed with square-root while retaining the color balance. I sharpened the image in CS5 with unsharp mask. This object is about 2000 light years away, in constellation Cygnus.
THEODORE is a sweet, sensitive Golden Retriever mix who’s around a year old. He’s a gentle, social boy who loves people, and likes nothing better than to sit beside you with his head in your lap :-)
He loves hot dog treats (which will be a big help with training and confidence-building) and he does well with other dogs.
Theodore is looking for a low-key home where he can continue to come out of his shell.
Theodore lives in Kennel 36.

Me and my various blinking LED's in the background. Kiss that Dell goodbye when I get my new Mac Pro and run Parallels on that bad boy. So long to that monitor switch too. It will be a good look for the kid. My roommate got a new printer. My printer (not in the picture) will end up on the curb in the next few weeks. I'll keep ya posted!
