This is a very old custom among the villages of mountain Pelion. The day of celebration the 'analipsis' of Jesus (the rise to Heavens 40 days after His resurrection) riders and their horses from villages of mountain Pelion are gathered at the beach of village Kala Nera. They parade to escort the priests with the holly illustration of 'analipsis' and during the ceremony the riders and their horses are blessed with Holly Water, are treated with a shot of the local spirit 'tsipouro' and candies. After that the riders and their horses go to the nearby beach for a 'swim'. The event ends with folclor music and dancing.
