Sunday, October 6 -- We celebrated with St. Francis, the Blessing of all of God's Creatures. We will gathered in front of the St. Francis Door at Luther Place Memorial Church. We sang and pray over our 22 pets, and received a word of grace from The Rev. Dr. Susan Roy, who is her self a modern day St. Francis!
This was made for a swap for a person who helps special needs kids and fundraises for animal shelters.

The monk in the center is giving blessings, while the monk in the back is chanting. Blessings are considered mutually beneficial since they create good karma for the monk and the person being blessed.
Our onward trip (going from Leh to Pangong Tso lake) showed us Chang La Pass in one color (brown and barren) while the return trip, revealed the same Chang La in another color (white!)
Its true, people in these regions definitely need the blessings to sustain and carry on...

St. Gertrude celebrated installation of the pipe organ with solemn vespers. During the vespers service the organ was blessed for its holy service to the liturgy. After vespers a new reliquary, was blessed an installed beneath the altar of sacrifice.
