I risked getting my camera wet to take this shot. I was hoping to get some water droplets on the flowers =/

I got a chance to play with an SLR camera this weekend. Now I want one even more. Shoot!

I bumped into a random kid wearing my little brother's clothing line, Bleeding Star the other day. Not only did he have a t-shirt, but a tattoo as well. Crazy.

We've only had Elephant Head amaranth until now. This is a lovely, old fashioned addition to the garden

Bleeding Heart, with its heart-shaped flowers, is an old-fashioned perennial plant commonly found in cottage gardens. Native to northern China, Korea and Japan, bleeding hearts were discovered and brought to England by a plant explorer of the Royal Horticultural Society in 1846. Bleeding heart has many other names such as Dutchmans Trousers, Lady Locket, Lady in a Boat and Venus' Car.

The bleeding heart or Valentine flower is known under several species names. The common bleeding heart is still known as Dicentra spectabilis. The taxonomy has changed and the species is now known as Lamprocapnos spectabilis, although you will see it commonly referred to as Dicentra. The name Dicentra was derived from the Greek dis, which means twice, and kentron, which means spur, in reference to the two hooks on each bloom. Spectabilis refers to the plant's showy or 'spectacular' appearance.

Bleeding heart are not just known for their lovely heart-shaped flowers, it also describes a person who "makes an ostentatious or excessive display of pity or concern for others".
