In the cobbled courtyard of Bleeding Heart Yard, this number two is painted on a brick wall. Not far from Farringdon tube station in London
Dicentra spectabilis - Each flower looks like a 'BLEEDING HEART'. The plant is pretty much deer resistant.
The Process: Here's some shots of my yard after a very nice sprinkle. Shot on the Nikon D70 and manipulated in Photoshop. I ran an action called Acidify, which I tweeked up a bit. Then I made a mask which changed the hue, saturation, and lightness of parts of the image. Those parts are the borders, which I made from downloaded brushes which I further customized
The Meaning: These are some of my bleeding hearts. They grow so fast and make a nice privacy for my fence line.
Every year our bleeding heart plant gets better and better and this year it especially caught my eye.

the detail of these small wonders is breathtaking- I'd never noticed the extra tiny heart at the top of the blossom...and the variegated colours above the blossom where the stem gives rise to the flower

This is one of the coolest looking flowers that I've ever seen. According to the tag accompanying the plant, it's called "Bleeding Heart."

Every time I tried to get a shot of these they were dangling in the wind. Finally tonight they were still.
I thought the name of this song was Bleeding Heart, but it is Bleeding Love.
Anyway she is on her way to stardom, or so they say.
These pretty bleeding hearts(I think thats what their called) come up every year along the fence line.
Bleeding Heart flowers against a dark background. I liked the nearly perfect little heart on the left end! Taken with - ack! - modern optics, versus my recent attempts with a 30-year-old soft focus Portragon lens! If I decide to pony up the dough for the adaptor to use my Mamiya 145mm Soft Focus lens on my Nikon, I'll REALLY have sumpin'!
