Bleeding Heart, with its heart-shaped flowers, is an old-fashioned perennial plant commonly found in cottage gardens. Native to northern China, Korea and Japan, bleeding hearts were discovered and brought to England by a plant explorer of the Royal Horticultural Society in 1846. Bleeding heart has many other names such as Dutchmans Trousers, Lady Locket, Lady in a Boat and Venus' Car.
The bleeding heart or Valentine flower is known under several species names. The common bleeding heart is still known as Dicentra spectabilis. The taxonomy has changed and the species is now known as Lamprocapnos spectabilis, although you will see it commonly referred to as Dicentra. The name Dicentra was derived from the Greek dis, which means twice, and kentron, which means spur, in reference to the two hooks on each bloom. Spectabilis refers to the plant's showy or 'spectacular' appearance.
Bleeding heart are not just known for their lovely heart-shaped flowers, it also describes a person who "makes an ostentatious or excessive display of pity or concern for others".

These are one of the various flowering plants found at the Burger King a half a block from my house. I would stop in there to get a bottle of water before starting my walks.

Bleeding Broadleaf Crust, ( Stereum rugosum ),
Similar to Bleeding Oak Crust but generally paler in colour and found on a rang of broadleaved trees.
Fruit Body, Usually fully resupinate, but occasionally with a narrow, projecting, uplifed maringinal zone; upper surface smooth or slightly warty, becoming hard and crusty when old; buff, tin pink, with the margin distinctly paler; bleeds red when damaged; sometimes found on thin twigs of birch, when it appears as small, rounded patches.
