At the New York Botanical Garden, the Bronx, NYC -- April 25, 2019

Lamprocapnos spectabilis, bleeding heart or Asian bleeding-heart, is a species of flowering plant in the poppy family Papaveraceae, native to Siberia, northern China, Korea and Japan. It is the sole species in the monotypic genus Lamprocapnos, but is still widely referenced under its old name Dicentra spectabilis. Wikipedia

Scientific name: Lamprocapnos spectabilis

Higher classification: Lamprocapnos

Rank: Species

From the Bleeding Hearts that are still sitting in my studio.

Took this shot through an opening in the plants, as a result the flowers and leaves in the foreground became out of focus.

Just how wonderful is it for one of nature's flowers to be shape like a perfect heart? To speak nothing of their attractive color. And the icing on the cake is the soft arching of the branch from which they all hang!

Latvian Actress Ieva Puķe as Blanche from the play "Street car Named Desire" by Tennesee Williams

I saw the play in Ventspils, May 14th in Theatre house "Jūras vārti"

From Wikipedia

Williams' most popular work, A Streetcar Named Desire is one of the most critically acclaimed plays of the twentieth century.[1] It still ranks among his most performed plays, and has inspired many adaptations in other forms, notably a critically acclaimed film that was released in 1951.

Let me ask you again that if you like my photography, you may order prints or canvas from my site or go to my blog at kriskrosgallery.blogspot.com/2008/07/kk-prints.html. It will be an honor for me for a friend to hang a KK artwork on his/her wall. And just so you know, shipping of orders is fast.

This is from a freshly cut tree along my dog walking path.

In fact my heart is bleeding too, as they have cut off a lot of trees for the sake of amplyfing the channel for the creek that overboarded in 2002 and created quite a bit of damages. (Also in my home the underground garage was flooded, see the mosaic).

This is how it looked after the flood in 2002:

After the flood mosaic

John 19:34: "But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out."

1 John 5:6: "This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth."

Strange fungus. What is bleeding tooth fungus? Hydnellum peckii is a genus of tooth fungi in the family Bankeraceae (order Thelephorales).

One of the better-known species is the weird pinkish-white Hydnellum peckii, also known as "strawberries and cream" or as the "bleeding tooth fungus" due to the red droplets that appear on the pinkish or whitish fruitbodies. The fruitbodies of its members grow by slowly enveloping nearby bits of grass and vegetation.

Have I mentioned that I love observing sunrise over sand dunes? The light show is incredible with everchanging warm and cool colors and soft shadows. In this one a single face gets illuminated by yellow-orange glow before sunrise reveling the desert’s bleeding heart.
