The bleeding hearts droop under the late April snow. The bleeding hearts aren't happy, but are bleeding hearts ever happy?
Thank you for taking the time to comment, award and/or critique my work, I truly appreciate each and every one! Thank you and I hope you enjoy your day :-)

re-posted after my original was changed several times. This photo made explored on May 10th. Within 24hours the privacy has been changed, and I changed it back. It was change back to privacy. It was then deleted. I have since changed my password. IHas anyone ever had this problem?
I love Bleeding Hearts, especially beautiful pink ones. Taken on today's date in 2013 on KU's main campus. For Flower Thursday!
Bleeding Heart Dove in an aviary at the Oregon Zoo in Portland. He/she liked to wander around on the ground below the observation platform, so I got an interesting view from above. I just had to remove the distracting background!

I'm bleeding out
So if the last thing that I do
Is bring you down
I'll bleed out for you
So i bare my skin
and I count my sins
and I close my eyes and I take it in
I'm bleeding out
I'm bleeding out for you
For you

I spotted this pale variant of Dicentra formosa. They sure are in full bloom in the woods this year!

Hidden away in Central London is this old building, a sign of times gone by perhaps. If it were not for some of the modern electrical items dotted around this could quite easily be from the Victorian era. This image was taken in the middle of the night, making use of the gas lamp to illuminate the street.

I've been teaching Poppy photography, take a look at her Flickr.
Taking full advantage of the bleeding heart flowers in full bloom. I'd been out in the rain all day, and my hair shows it, but that's part of the fun.
Happy Selfie Sunday, Flickr Friends!
We have a single Bleeding Heart plant in our backyard and for a few brief days every year, the hearts pour out. And then, they sprout wings and look like diving turtles. Not soon after, the wings woefully whither leaving me heart-broken. Less than an inch (~2cm) in length, they are small fragile little wonders.
Beautiful bleeding hearts. I love that such wonderful shapes can be found in nature. <3
Used 2 Lil Owls Matte Glam 4 Lightroom preset to process this and then added 2 Lil Owls Crackle Texture #2 at 100% softlight. 2lilowls.com/

Strolling in Sobieski park and the Florist’s Gardens
Just a short walk from the Domaine Royal de Laeken (Royal Estate of Laeken), these gardens are the result of Leopold II's wishes. This majestic leafy-green area extended the Stuyvenberg Estate. In 1999, a public park was created there. The different gardens which now make up the park reinterpret the historic nature of the site and give it a refined modernity, whilst meeting the strictest environmental standards. As the highpoint of the visit, the balconies emphasise the sweeping view that stretches from Notre-Dame de Laeken to the Palais de Justice (law courts)
But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open.. (:
They do look like a heart.
For this picture I had the bleeding heart back lit, which allows us to see the detail in the outer part of the flower. I also like how the branch is lit up.
As the bleeding hearts age, they loose some of their pink color. This was a rather old one, and so we are able to see through it more than if this had been a new flower.
