Parvin State Park, Pittsgrove Township, NJ

Taken from the bottom of the cellar stairs.

Spent some time with this live wire. His name is Blaze. He is a Springador. Used to be ours but he proved to be too much for our aging Cocker. But he lives nearby and we see him often.

Sunset at Elliots through the Kal Schmidt memorial - *sometimes* the other side of the beach is interesting too ;)

Have too many of these - had to choose one - it sure was a brilliant sunset!

The Spring shrub " the flowering currant " in bloom ,back lit by the sinking sun.

So named for the white blaze on his face. Captured near Langley, the horse capital of British Columbia, Canada.

This was from my daughters house as I was heading home tonight.

Blaze Canyon sits between the two mesas. The mesa to the right separates Blaze canyon from Sego and Thompson Canyons. Thompson is to the far right, out of the picture. Time has it's way of altering the landscape, less so with the geology than the human elements, which I was disheartened by. Thompson proper is still pretty much deserted, but my favorite prism shaped abandoned café is now missing and replaced by a road maintenance facility, the abandoned bus that I came to cherish ( lol ) is gone, the 2 story ghost town roadhouse at Sego has completely collapsed and it's 2 old 40's era junk cars have been turned upside down and labeled with graffiti.....oh well...at least the mesas are still there.

The vapour of a chimney captures the first sunrays of the cold day. Everyday glory.

I love the ripple of water that breaks through the reflection on the far right of the image. Had I realized it more at the time I would've definitely moved in closer. Thanks for checking this out. Finally getting a little closer to the end of the Oregon Coast series. In other words, close to the end of the tonemapped images. Still have some night time long exposures to unveil. It has been fun. Enjoy!

My friend Blaze (at the age of 14 months) stands in the forest near Wittmund (Germany). We had a lovely little farm house (Fahnhus) there. Blaze always enjoyed the farm land very much.

Yes, I’ll admit, it is a little disappointing when you plan a trip through the south coast of NSW to shoot some of Australia’s best coast and then the clouds don’t want to come too. But when life gives you lemons? Shoot star trails.

And what better place to do it than Bermagui’s “Camel Rock”?

Eurasian eagle-owl.

The Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) is a species of eagle-owl that resides in much of Eurasia. It is sometimes called the European eagle-owl and is, in Europe, where it is the only member of its genus besides the snowy owl (B. scandiacus), occasionally abbreviated to just eagle-owl It is one of the largest species of owl, and females can grow to a total length of 75 cm (30 in), with a wingspan of 188 cm (6 ft 2 in), males being slightly smaller. This bird has distinctive ear tufts, with upper parts that are mottled with darker blackish colouring and tawny and the wings and tail are barred. The underparts are a variably hued buff, streaked with darker colour. The facial disc is poorly developed and the orange eyes are distinctive.

Besides being one of the largest living species of owl, it is also one of the most widely distributed. The Eurasian eagle-owl is found in a number of habitats but is mostly a bird of mountain regions, coniferous forests, steppes and other relatively remote places. It is a mostly nocturnal predator, hunting for a range of different prey species, predominately small mammals but also birds of varying sizes, reptiles, amphibians, fish, large insects and other assorted invertebrates. It typically breeds on cliff ledges, in gullies, among rocks or in some other concealed locations. The nest is a scrape in which averages of two eggs are laid at intervals and which hatch at different times. The female incubates the eggs and broods the young, and the male provides food for her and when they hatch, for the nestlings as well. Continuing parental care for the young is provided by both adults for about five months. There are at least a dozen subspecies of Eurasian eagle-owl.
