It is impossible to ignore the red of the poppies. They shake the life of even the most distracted passerby

The north promenade at Bridlington, East Yorkshire is a blaze of glory now that the annual display of foliage has bloomed. It stretches for at least 200 metres.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISITS, COMMENTS, AWARDS AND FOR ANY INVITES.
Just spent a few days away visiting Northumberland. We couldn't believe our luck when on the first morning this beautiful sunrise greeted us. Not seen one so intense for a long time.
My thanks to Calum Gladstone for all his helpful advice :)

Controlling the Blaze local house fire that is a controlled burn, blazing pretty strong ay this point, shot in North Carolina.
Spring flowers and sunset light - what do you want more :) And I still can't get enough of these amazing flare rays the Helios produces under certain conditions. Hope you like it too!
Saguaro National Park is located East of Tucson AZ and is in Sonoran desert. The saguaro is a tree-like cactus species that can grow to be over 12 meters tall. On this Summer day it was especially hot and clear which made the Sunset that much more spectacular. If you go there, take lots of water. Better yet, visit in the Winter!
A 'Blaze' tulip from Tesselaar Bulbs at Monbulk, in Victoria (Australia).

I've got lots of hummingbird shots right now because there's a lot of hummingbird activity in our yard. I love the iridescent gorget of the male Anna's Hummingbird. There is no pigment at all in those feathers. The color comes from how he light refracts through little bubbles in their feathers. Black from one angle and screaming pink from another. Amazing little birds.
The Fire Brigade were doing controlled burns near my home today. It was close enough for me to hear the crackling from the house. Too close and smokey for comfort but better than the uncontrolled alternative!
Wounds are inspirations to make us stronger than the sun which blazes the day to be longer

Taking five on a busy schedule for the next few days......
note: re-framing of an earlier shot - abstracted.
So inviting are the coloured leaves that have fallen upon the trail of blaze, not to forget also how awesome these leaves smell in the forest.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.
Have a safe and fantastic day dear Flickr friends !

A brilliant splash of color tours the former Denver & Rio Grande Western, leading a BNSF Railway Denver - Provo freight through Spanish Fork Canyon on May 29, 2010. We owe fourth generation railroader Mike Haverty, CEO of Kansas City Southern Railway, a debt of gratitude for the return of the KCS “Southern Belle” passenger livery.
