Tonight's work. I changed my mind about the width of the second band from what I had drawn on the pattern - I am also thinking of working the narrow bands (#2 here, and another farther up) in Assissi work with some deep red silk. I'll try that out tomorrow and see if I like the result - red and black are very traditional colors for these items.

A gift for 2 of my friends at their wedding, my first proper blackwork piece.

Spent about half my work time today picking out the narrow second band and reworking it in Assisi style - I like the dash of color it gives to the work, and it speaks to the traditional black/red/white of icons scarves from eastern Europe.
