I finally caved and bought labcoats for work (I work at Rikers) and I decided to give it a little fun but attempting Blackwork Embroidery through details....
This was listed as being a woman's jacket which I believe but I can't convey how tiny it was. No bigger than what you would expect something an 8 year old would wear. Nice slashed sleeves.
An old rhyme that I'm making a blackwork piece of for my dad.
I'm using the first, second, and fourth borders on the top and bottom. They came from Lesley Wilkins' book Traditional Blackwork Samplers and the font is adapted from a font in that book. The corner piece and vertical border are my adaptations of the first border.
I want it to have a sampler feel.

My new progress about "Angel". This time I've been working with hair and the background. I hope you like.
I had this black work hanging about, it was so beautiful that I decided to make a cushion. You can't see the gold shadow quilting over the cat, but it just gives a little more sparkle to the cushion.
The Tote Bag size will be approx 12" x 13" (4*4 hoop bag) or 14" x 15" (5*5 hoop bag). Use the large Blocks to complete a Beautiful Quilt.
