tried a little seam treatment in blackwork - okay whitework! - but didn't choose the right pattern I fear. maybe some beads would pep things up a little?
Original design - "aer" (chalice veil). Silk and silver threads on Belgian linen. About 120 hours stitching.

I saw this work in my mom's old magazine and tried it . I liked it a lot but it took 3 to 4 weeks to finish.
Two-thread Holbein stitches in 2-ply over linen. The motif is about 15 mm tall. Hemstitched.
Set of two given to Jack's mentor, Corbin de la Rue, and Corbin's lady, Ysabel de Sainctecroix.
Color and pattern test for the new rushnyk. I'm not 100% happy with the "scarlet" color (the filling for the assisi work band) will try for another tomorrow when I can see them in daylight to choose.
Gives an idea of the workings of the Holbein stitch. Yeah, I pulled out what I'd already done; honestly, this is 100% better and I'm much happier with it.
