I'll be adding a lovely iris border at the bottom done in the same green as above and with the irises in deep purple with gold highlights.

Making significant progress on this design. Fairly close to the actual colors, but not exact. Still getting used to this new camera.
Narrow borders done at last! Model from "Traditional Blackwork Samplers" by Lesley Wilkins, Search Press
This is a series of experiments with part of a band sampler from Lesley Wilkin's Traditional Blackwork Samplers. Each quarter is different except for the bottom two of the motif on the right. They aren't my style so I won't use them but I still learned a lot.

In 2020 I joined a stitching group on Facebook called Peppermint Purple. It was created by a designer in UK named Clare. She has an online shop with the same name where you can buy kits and/or patterns created by her. This is a SAL (stitchalong) in which she shared a part of the design each Wednesday throughout the year. Each stitcher chose fabric and floss colors and border choices.

Holy Resurrection Antiochian Orthodox Church, May 2012. Silk, Cotton, and gold threads on Belfast linen over 2 x 3 threads. Patterns adapted from "The New Carolingian Modelbook" (blackwork), traditional eastern European cross-stitch designs. Lace original design, worked by my godmother.
Took 2 years to complete the embroidery, and another 2 for the lace. Piece measures 60 inches long by 18 inches wide.
