I got distracted but am back at it. At this point I'm only expecting to finish this one repeat of the template this month and then slowly work on the rest. (Oh, hello there, missing arrow-y bit in the first square that I didn't see until now!)

I'm sure to inform the whole world when I've finished the other 3 projects [Florida, Montana & Louisiana] that I've also bought (a WHILE ago) ...
2010 / 2011 finishes. Blackwork patterns so simple and have a very stunning look, great in the traditional black on white and I love these retro buttons too.

I'm ridiculously proud of this piece and it's been something I've been meaning to make for well over two years. The cross stitch itself has 6950 stitches (not counting the back stitching) and was done on 22ct fabric. The pillow is 14x14 and the cross stitch is 8".
This is the first time I've ever done something other than framing a cross stitch and sewing it was scary. I'd spent so many hours working on the stitching, and I was so nervous that I would do something and have to just scrap the whole project.

From the JD Robb book Reunion in Death - "Let's just say that if it should ever be necessary, I'm sure I could use her as a reference. Actually, she was an interesting woman with a very simple outlook on life."
"Which is?"
"The fuckers are all out to get you so you'd better get them first."
"Somebody ought to sew that on a pillow."
