These T-50Bs belong to the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) aerobatic jet display team. There are 8 aircraft in the team and are based in South Korea. To get the 8 aircraft to the UK they had to be taken apart, flown to the UK and then put back together again.

I was lucky enough to see the Republic Of Korea's display team back in 2012 and was blown away by their performance, so I was delighted to hear they were coming back for the first time since.
They fly 9 T50Bs, an aerobatic variant of the supersonic advanced jet trainer. These nine aircraft were disassembled and loaded on to Boeing 747s for their transport to the UK. They flew via Thailand and Turkiye, before finally arriving at Boscombe Down. The aircraft were reassembled, checked, certified and air tested in less than 3 weeks.
The Black Eagles were awarded the King Hussein Memorial Sword, for the Best Overall Flying Demonstration and the FRIAT voted As The Crow Flies Trophy at the awards ceremony. Richly deserved!

The Black Eagles display team of the Republic of Korea Air Force has been visiting various air shows this year (2022), but has been based at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire. Before they began performing at air shows, they had a couple of practice displays to hone their skills, And though they were often a couple of miles away from me, they were close enough to get some photos :)
