At the end of their display at RIAT 2022, the Republic of Korea Black Eagles team performed a high formation loop and broke as they came down into a spiral. This image is a composite of 16 images from a sequence of frames showing the path of each team member as they spiralled down.

Update 2022-08-02. I wrote a piece on the Royal Photographic Society website about how I made this picture:

What started off as a joint project with Transnistrian military firm SniB to produce a well-protected 3rd-Generation Main Battle Tank eventually split in two directions. The Chenchnan-made turret was too large for the Transnistrian chassis and accommodatory railroad transportation (particularly, many bridges and tunnels), and the Transnistrian project eventually became the SniB-90 series. The turret sat in a warehouse for nearly a year before a new military ordnance request dug it out. A new, domestic chassis was fitted with great assistance from the Sangheili officers and engineers from the crashed ship "Liturgy of the Sacrament". Whist an absolutely massive vehicle, the extremely durable polymer armor and incredible speeds from the repulsor-based propulsion system gave it an uncharacteristic speed and power. Floating a foot above ground, the Maschith can glide above rough terrain with ease. However, it is not without its issues. A plasma-based fuel system eats fuel for breakfast and is highly volatile, and an interior designed with primarily Sangeili in mind does not suit human ergonomics especially well. However, testing has concluded it is not only an effective warmaking vehicle, but one whose presence on the battlefield should not be taken lightly.

Based off of the Type-26 Wraith, from the Halo franchise. Turret was a Black Eagle/Obj. 640 project I had been making with Ian, but the turret turned out too large for a realistically-scaled chassis. So now there's this.

Also, can this count as Mechtober?

Having departed their temporary base at Boscombe Down, the Republic of Korea Air Force Aerobatic Team, The 'Black Eagles' with their eight KAI T-50 Golden Eagles swoop by Beachy Head whilst on a tour of the South East Coast of England

Out of frame here, 'spare' Number 9 was acting as photo-ship and after reaching Dover, they reversed their routing and headed to Fairford to take part in the 2022 RIAT

THE BLACK EAGLE COMPLEX is probably the most monumental architectural accomplishment in Oradea

( Varadinum ) and in Transylvania, as far as the Secession building style is concerned. The contest to build this architectural complex was won by architects Komor Marcell and Jakab Dezső. Its construction, on the old location of the “Black Eagle” Inn, begins in 1907, under the supervision of construction engineer Sztarill Ferenc, and in December 1908, the edification is complete.

Black Eagle Palace has an interior passage covered with glass element that it singles secession architecture in the context of our country and also attract the attention of tourists. The palace is “Y” shaped with three entrances dominated by one eagle, emblem of the building. Part of the passage entrance from the V. Alecsandri street and from Union square is shaped like an eagle’s beak.

On the facade that is situated at Union square, you can see the features and the beautiful secession style clock tower. Note the ground ornaments (floral and zoomorphic), combined with other styles of baroque or rococo, and a mixture of elements is that make Black Eagle Palace an architectural monument special and a unique expression of artistic thinking from the early twentieth century.

And it is the largest and most representative architectural ensemble Secession style in Transylvania.

this is for Rob alias Dunottar - decided to upload this pic instead of just cropping the other while I went through the pics I have of this beautiful guy. May be the feather on his nose is disturbing a bit?

I still agree to Robs proposal :-)

I hope Rob, you like this shot ;-)
