Black Eagle T-38 Talon at Nellis AFB. From far away I thought the stripes were part of the paint scheme, but close up I have no idea what was going on.

Around 1,300 UK soldiers were honing their skills in the largest armoured deployment to Eastern Europe for six years.
The Kingâs Royal Hussars Battlegroup was taking part in Exercise Black Eagle under the command of the 10th Polish Armoured Cavalry Brigade and alongside the 1st Polish Tank Battalion at the Zagan Training area in south-west Poland. The exercise included both dry-training and live-firing and was designed to develop interoperability between the two Armed Forces.
Exercise Black Eagle was a key demonstration of UK support to NATO reassurance measures and follows the RAFâs commitment of Typhoon aircraft to the Baltic Air Policing Mission and the deployment of HMS Montrose off the Danish coast as part of the multi-national Baltic Ops exercise in June 2014. Further deployments are expected to take place over the next two years.

Verreaux’s Eagle Aquila verreauxii also know as Black Eagle (my preference) is a gorgeous eagle which hunts over our place - they like to catch Rock Hyrax Procavia capensis as they bask on sunny ledges on the rocky slopes above our house.
To everyone out-there that has taken the time to view & comment on this image thank you very much, it is appreciated & I will try to thank you all personally.
Verreaux's Eagle; alternatively known as the Black Eagle, especially in Southern Africa.
Adult Verreaux's Eagles are mostly jet-black in colour. The yellow colouration of the cere (the bill is gun-metal grey), eye-ring and “eye-brows”, all stand out in contrast to the black plumage. Even more prominent on flying birds when seen from above is the white on the back, rump and upper-tail coverts and part of the scapulars, which forms a V-shaped patch, although this feature is partially obscured in perched birds. Adults also have conspicuous white windows on the wing quills at the carpal joint (at the base of the primaries) when seen flying both from above and below.
Verreaux's Eagle is a very large eagle. It measures 75 to 96 cm (30 to 38 in) long from the bill to the tip of the tail, making it the sixth longest eagle in the world.

Coloured pencils and watercolours on Steinbach paper.
"They came flying from far away, now I'm under their spell
I love hearing the stories that they tell
They've seen places beyond my land and they've found new horizons
They speak strangely but I understand
And I dream I'm an eagle
And I dream I can spread my wings
Flying high, high, I'm a bird in the sky
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please...."
