One of the first proper Landscape Photography outings of the year for me (November!!) which is very poor but I've had various injuries to contend with but thankfully now fully on the mend!
5 of us headed out to Northumberland for 4 days which turned out to be a fantastic trip if not a little 'challenging' in the weather stakes! We had driven overnight to here which was the first stop off point for sunrise, and as it went would be the only time we saw any sunlight for the entire trip... This was as you can probably guess taken off the drone as the angle of the Sun here at this time of year was massively favourable to shooting off the beach, it's years since I've been here and had been high on my list for a revisit mainly due to rumours of the Pier being due to be demolished, whether this is still the case I don't know?
We ended up staying around here for a few hours after the main bit of light had gone and still managed to create some great images, infact all through the trip despite the decidedly poor lighting I've still managed to come away with some images that I'm really happy with which I'll upload in the coming weeks.

I wanted to upload this while it was still fresh in my mind. The quote is from the song "Black and White".
Immediately after hearing that Michael Jackson had died I went out for my smoke break. These clouds were just like this when I walked out the door. It wasn't until I uploaded the photo to my computer that I noticed the face in the sky. Do you see it?
This is straight from my camera except for using Picasa to convert it to black and white.
We went over to Portsmouth yesterday morning to do some shopping and then took a walk around the naval dockyard. It was a lovely day and on the way home we stopped off at a park which runs along the coast the other side of Southampton. We had only just got out of the car when this appeared! Needless to say we beat a hasty retreat back to the car
Liverpool area. Early morning shot as the sun was trying to come through the clouds. The clouds won. Rainy day !
Some threatening skies above Portishead Marina.
Contrasting nicely with the coloured apartments.
This area has grown a lot in the last year or so, and the extra pontoons down the south end of the harbour have filled a rather empty expanse with boats
So what if the sky is black and the showers are coming down: a breath of fresh air was definitely needed today. After our quick jaunt out, I can confirm that the temperatures are definitely on the way down:-(
I really am getting good use out of my new waterproof camera

Captured from one of the highest building in Kuala Lumpur. this is 9 exposure HDR image process in Photomatix and Photoshop CS6. After 5 minutes from the last exposure taken, rain comes down. I'm so thankful and blessed to be presented with this magical moment from our Creator.
It's been 1month since I'm searching for HDR photography. Finally got some great tutorials. One of them is : www.vanilladays.com/hdr_tutorial/

Ardvreck Castle stands on a rocky promontory jutting out into Loch Assynt in Sutherland. Ardvreck Castle is a ruined castle dating from the 16th century and can be reached by driving along the A837 towards Lochinver along the hauntingly beautiful Loch Assynt. The castle and the nearby house are believed to be haunted and there has been a number of ghost sightings. Ardvreck castle is situated in one of the most romantic locations in Scotland and you can arrange to be married in the castle grounds, or to have your vows reaffirmed.

it took me nearly an hour walking along hurst spit to reach this lighthouse near the end of hurst shingle bank in hampshire, wonderful weather today dry and extremly blowey.
The lighthouse was built in 1867 and is near hurst castle built in the early 1540s
Distant rain clouds deposit their loads onto Iping, Dumpford and Elsted Marsh. Meanwhile, I am bathed in warm sunshine where I stand on farmland near Stedham.
I'd meant to post this image at the time but as with many things they get put onto the back burner and ultimately get forgotten about until you stumble across them one day again... I found this one today and decided to post it.
This was shot on the tiny remote Island of North Ronaldsay in the Orkney archipelago, this was the single biggest sea storm I have ever seen, the sheer sense of it was amazing as it moved along the coast, an added bonus was it also being sunset so it gave this great effect of the golden illuminated sky appearing anywhere where the dense black cloud had a gap for it to shine through making the sea appear to be on fire, an absolute spectacle and not something I'll ever forget witnessing.
Of note: the sheep that can be seen sheltering in the foreground are totally unique to this tiny island, mainly living off seaweed washed up onto the beaches. You can't get too close to them either, they aren't keen on humans it seems! - I don't suppose they see many living here!

Having taken my photo for today I carried on walking around town, while the sky got darker and darker. The suddenly there was a hole in the black and the light came through.
Thank you for your favourites. :O)
A typical late afternoon in Florida. Hot and humid during the day and early evening thunderstorms which seemingly come out of nowhere. Curious about that pink building? I've placed a Flickr Note on it. For browsers which don't support Notes, it says...
"The Don CeSar Luxury Hotel. Also known as the "Pink Palace". (no, we didn't stay here - it's a bit above my pay grade!). Originally built in 1928, it's recently been completely restored to to its luxurious glory and then some!"
